Should we have a "stand in" to counter demonstrate?

There's no loophole. It's legal. And "common sense" would be to ease the restrictions to allow us to fight back.

How do people that lack that much intelligence constantly find their ways to positions of power?

I still haven't figured out why a pack of recumbent hoplophobic cretins is a newsworthy event.

Those Brady Campaign people are numerous and powerful. I've seen photos of them lying in with bottles wrapped in paper bags, seeking shelter under overpasses and in doorways all the year round.

Sometimes the streets of major cities are cluttered with Brady Campaign people doing their work. It's hard to resist their requests for donations.

Eightball, I have found the answer to your question, simply because there are plenty of stupid people to vote for or follow them. God, for some reason did not find it fitting to hand out intelligence and common sense to everyone, Obama and Kennedy are shining examples of this....

I still say we have the "million gun march" on DC. Do you really think they can arrest several hundred thousand poeple? They simply don't have the capability to do it....

I am offended that you omitted Rep. Carolyn McCarthy from your list. Mrs. McCarthy is without doubt the stupidest person in the United States Congress. Her election and re-election distinguish her constituents as the stupidest people in the United States of America.

It has sometimes occurred to me that a visit to her district might be most entertaining but I wonder how much variety there would be in watching people bumping into each other, trying to walk with their shoelaces tied to each other or to their ears, stumbling on curbs, bumping into lampposts, and trying to make change for a penny. I might be interested in getting the X of one in my autograph album but I'd hate to be responsible for anyone putting a sharp pencil in his or her nostril. Their keepers must have great patience.

Here is a couple of Rep. McCarthy's constituents attempting their mating ritual. No humans were harmed in making this picture.

They pulled that crap here in VA a few months ago. Just carry signs pointing out lying down is what gun control advocates do best as victims, or somesuch.

Maybe a sign with a big arrow, "Practicing to be a victim".

My fiancee and I are trying to get down there to stand in front of the fools when they have their lie-in. I'll be hard to miss me too, wearing this:

Good idea, Chris, and probably effective too. Maybe we can come up with suggestions for other signs of a similar nature.

    How about some of these:

    1. "Class for people who want to die."
    2. "Victim Instructors Meeting"
    3. "Demonstrating the Brady Campaign's survival technique"
    4. "Dead victims don't get up"
    5. "Teaching your children to die"
    6. "Death is not a game"
    7. "Sarah Brady teaches people to die"
    8. "Dieing is easy. Learn how to live."
    9. "We want to save our families' lives."
    10. "Our line is for people who want to live"

Kingpin, any update on your counter-protest? (I assume that by the time you see this, you'll be back, so ignore the time I'm posting this.)

    I hope everything went smoothly.

Rob - Unfortunately, we're not able to get down there in time. It was just an idea I had anyway, we didn't have anything specific planned out.

Oh well - I'm sure the VCDL will be giving them a hard time at Virginia Tech, and the Maryland Shall Issue folks probably have something planned for the Baltimore lie-in.

Ah, well it was a good idea anyhow. Besides, now you have something to wear the next time you intend to demonstrate. :)

Thanks. :) The hoodie is something that I wear already - I'm a student at a community college that (predictably) disallows students to carry or possess any sort of weapon for the purpose of self defense. I can't even carry my school-issued chef's knives (culinary student :)) on days that we don't have an in-kitchen lab, because if I do, I'm in violation of the no-weapons policy.

I made that hoodie after the NIU shooting, because I was sick of not doing anything about it. It was at the point where I was sitting in class, keeping one ear on my chef instructor's lecture, and one ear open listening for the sound of gunshots. I figured that since I wear that hoodie damn near every day anyway, I might as well turn it into a billboard. :D

I guess hosing them with a paintball gun would be inappropriate.

No sir, the VCDL was respectful enough NOT to use the memorials today to further their agenda, unlike those worthless antis laying on the drill field.

True enough. Did the brady's even make it to the campus? I haven't seen a lick of news coverage about any of the supposed "nationwide" lie-ins, let alone the one at VT.

I always wanted to lie down next to them and hold a sign that said "Another victim of gun control".

    LOL perfect!

I say as soon as they lay down in a public area arrest them for vagrancy like a common bum.
