I can't decide what size dot or reticle pattern I want, so I was thinking of getting a Matchdot II. It might eventually wind up on my .43 Magnum Redhawk. Any concerns about that sight standing up to a touch of recoil? (I mean, it's no .460 S&W.)

I originally got the MatchDot with the same thought, that I needed the smaller dot. In actual use, it is totally unnecessary. I actually got another standard UltraDot 30 to go on the .480 and the Matchdot will go on something else.

I agree 100% with Craig. I have a MatchDot on my 44mag SuperBlackhawk Hunter. It has been there for thousands of full power loads and is still going strong, however if I were to do it again I would just go with the 30mm fixed 4moa dot. I never seem to adjust the match dot off of the 4moa setting (range or field).

Ultradot's are commonly used on slide mounts for 1911's. I don't think that the recoil from a revolver would abuse it more than that.
