I just received an email lauding Gabby Gifford's opening remarks at the Senate Hearing on Gun Violence yesterday. The other side has perfected the exploitation of the sympathetic witness. Unfortunately our side responds with a 60 year old white dude. I think in this war of perceptions, we could use some improvement.

The email ends with a link to take action. When you enter your information, the system will call you back and then give you some recorded pointers of what to say to the Representative's office staff. The system then connects you with your representative.

    So......

Let's use this infrastructure to deliver a different message!

This thing works great-- I've used it a number of times.

    Benefits:
    1. It uses their resources that they must pay for
    2. If we are using it, then others may not get through
    3. We can deliver whatever useful message we like once we're connected.

Here's the link and their closing line:

We need to follow Gabby Giffords’ lead and call on Congress to act RIGHT NOW:

Please give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

    I approve wholeheartedly!

I read a story of a "Death Clock" that some anti-gunner put up in Times Square to allegedly show the number of people killed by guns. He also had an 800 number for donations. Pro-2A people got hold of that number...and managed to bankrupt the shebang since each call to the 800 numbers costs the guy who created it. :D
