On March 28th, supporters across the country are joining a National Day to Demand Action to end gun violence. Get involved right now by committing to call your Senators.
An overwhelming majority of Americans support reform, but to make sure that reform is meaningful we need Congress to pass the strongest possible legislation.
Commit to making a call on March 28th and tell your Senators you Demand Action.


I know this is no suprise, just wanted to spread the word and encourage everyone to call and email their senators on march 28 to counter this.

My letter taken from the NRA's form;

As your constituent, I want to urge you to oppose any and all gun control proposals that have been, or will be, introduced, particularly so-called “universal” background checks, which would criminalize the private transfer of firearms and any legislation that would arbitrarily limit ammunition magazines or reinstate the failed ban on commonly owned semi-automatic rifles.

Even Obama's experts say his gun control policies won't work. According to an internal Department of Justice memorandum,"universal" background checks will not work without requiring gun registration and a gun and magazine ban, like the one being debated right now in Congress, will not work without a mandatory gun buyback (confiscation).

The one thing all of these misguided proposals have in common is they won't reduce crime. Criminals, by definition, are lawbreakers. They are not deterred by laws against murder, rape, armed robbery, etc., and they won’t be affected by additional gun control laws on top of the tens of thousands of existing laws we have on the books at every governmental level.

Again, I urge you to oppose any and all anti-gun legislation that will simply penalize law-abiding gun owners and instead focus on improvements to our nation’s mental health system and enhancing school security, while respecting our Second Amendment rights.

Please reply to me with your position on these measures. Your votes on these issues will be a major consideration in my future voting decisions.

Today is the day. Thanks for the reminder. I just called both of my senators and my representative. I let them know that I was a voting member of their district/state and that I am against any exansion of gun control laws, including universal background checks. Mine are pro-2A and I thanked them for their service.

Call and help balance the numbers. BTW, the phones were wide open. No problems getting in.

This has been a great discussion about the video, but the thread is in the Activism section and the original poster is advocating that we all CALL our Congressmen/women on the 28th of March to counter balance the calls coming from the Mayors Against Illegal Guns followers. TODAY IS THE 28th!

Please make your calls today. Keep them simple and to the point. Be nice but be clear.

And as if all this weren't bad enough, there's this from Biden:

“Let me say this as clearly as I can: this is just the beginning,” he said on a conference call organized by the group, which is co-chaired by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. “We believe that weapons of war have no place on our streets. That’s the message that retired admirals and generals have spoken to us about. The comment one of them used was if you want to learn how to use a semiautomatic weapon, join the United States military. But these are weapons of war.”

They're not giving up. I urge everyone to remember the procedural chicanery that was used to ram Obamacare down the throats of an unwilling public when they couldn't get the votes. Look for something equally shady to happen here if they can't get the gun control measures they want through the house and senate. As Biden himself said once "gird your loins." We've got a long, bitter struggle ahead.
