How is LOP measured/checked and how would you go about adjusting a gun to fit a particular shooter?

The gun in question is a new to us (I believe it is lightly used) Baikal spr310.

Shot gun fit has to take into account face type/size. That is why drop and cast can be huge between one person and another the approximate same size and weight. Baikals have more cast off than most all doubles in there price "range". More pricey ones like Savage up to say CZ take into account cast as being needed so for me they align well too. I know I had to practice shooting with just a t-shirt and adjusting the mount somewhat using a coat. Now proper l.o.p. the mount motion is the same. Not sure I agree with the 1/2" in back equals 1" in front however.
