I bought two of the new MecGar Glock 19 magazines. These are the mags supplied with the new Staccato HD-P4:

They bill it as a G19 mag but really it’s the same as their G17 mag with a sleeve at the bottom. No problem, just not flush fit.

I received these mags about three weeks ago. I loaded them to max (18 rounds) and let them sit for a week or so before getting them to the range. I’ve shot around a hundred rounds through each thus far and I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I’ve only used my G19-5 with Vickers Tactical polymer extended mag release thus far.

I’ve got a lot of OEM Glock and Magpul PMAG mags but I really like these and plan to buy more. First impressions, I really like the finish and the green followers are easy to see. I am certainly not ready to carry this magazine but will use them for most of my future matches and training and see how things go.

So far, so good but early in the trial phase.

I bought 3 of these mags and emptied them several times each now. No functional complaints, but I have a minor gripe that they aren't flush with the grip at the rear of the mag. I will also be purchasing more whenever I get around to it.

The Mec-Gar mags I have bought in the past for my 1911s and my Remington R51 worked great. The Sig Sauer M11A1 that I bought recently came with “factory mags” made in Italy. They don’t say Mec-Gar, but that’s who makes them. I have 6 of those now and so far they have been great.

I no longer own Glocks, but if I did I would definitely give the Mec-Gar mags a try.

Do they have any increased capacity over the Glock factory mags?

+3 over a factory G19 mag. +1 over a G17 mag with adaptor. Plus they are all metal.

Mec-Gar makes mags for CZ also. They are good quality magazines, I have at least a dozen of them but not for any of my Glocks. I have pleanty of OEM magazines for them

Here's the Mec-Gar mag in my Ruger RXM:

I used a couple of these to shoot the RXM in a steel challenge match with zero issues. They are well made.

Glock factory 19X magazines hold 19 rounds and will work in G26, G19, and G17 pistols. At $30 each it's hard to justify aftermarket but if I were going after market MagPul are proven. They make a 21 round mag that sells for $13. Standard sizes are about $10
