Hey yall. I had been wanting a S&W Model 19, and finally came across a good deal on gunbroker for one. I won the auction for $412, after shipping and transfer, it will be $462. This one is a Texas Ranger Commemorative, and only 10,000 were produced, although I bought this for a shooter, not to be a safe queen. Anyways, here she is:

    Nice score Big D :)

It appears to be in VG condition, I'll be waiting for a range report.

Great gun, good price. I love mine, both 4" & 6". I shoot mostly .38 Special light reloads, but every now and then let them roar with full bore 158s.

Very nice - sweet deal~! Word of caution, NEVER - EVER leave your weapon
stored in a real leather holster; as leather attracts [and retains] moisture~! :uhoh:

You may notice that besides the obvious (it's a commemorative) it also has some unique modifications that weren't on other model 19's made during that day. The trigger has been slimmed, and the serrations removed, plus the trigger guard is narrowed on the right side. Both were recommended to Smith & Wesson by the Border Patrol's ace fast-draw shooter, Bill Jordan.

They also got a bit of extra internal hand fitting with special attention given to having an extra smooth (but not necessarily light) double-action trigger pull.

I have two M-19's, one in 357 mag. and the other in 44 spl... I really like S&W "K" frame guns, and i bet you will love your's too!

Sweet! I remember wanting one of those when they came out. If I recall correctly, they had some that also came with a presentation case, along with a S&W Bowie knife. Very nice commemorative Model 19. Enjoy.
