Make sure that boxes of ammo weighing as much as the semi-anti gun wife aren't delivered when she's the only one at home...

LOL, I feel your pain. I ordered my .50 and was away when it arrived. The owner of the LGS loaded it in our SUV. The wifey didn't know how much it weighed until she tried to carry it in the house and UP the steps. I give her though, she wasn't going to leave it in the vehicle. In its case and with the packing 55lbs and 2, 100 round cardboard cases of ammo(67-70lbs for both), I still hear about it.

"Feel the burn"... Both of them - her's and then yours.

    Suggestions?

Flowers, wash the dishes, foot rubs... buy her something pretty.

I'm in the same position as you as far as having a semi-anti gun wife, but she no longer heckles me about brown boxes arriving at the door because I no longer ask how much she spends on shoes, outfits, hair products, et.al.

It works much better for us both that way. :D

Yeah, might want to make sure you're home for that. Sort of reminds me of this weekend when my best friend and I got home from the gun show, each of us carrying a case of ammo. I believe his wife's comment was: "Did you really need more ammo? I'm pretty sure you have a box or two on the shelf still." I think in his case he just needs to sneak it in.

My wife on the other hand: "Well at that price of course you couldn't not buy it. Besides you only have one case out in the garage." I love that woman.

I just have to worry that she'll shoot it up before I get home

... not quite, but she surely doesn't mind signing for the packages I order, half the time there's some of the new stuff in the range bag and the rest stored by the time I wander in

I definitely don't have to deal with an anti wife. I'm a bachelor.

I just have to be careful not to order anything shiny. The last time I ordered I looked through my stuff and could not find the silvertips. She says they are hers.

My wife says " Tell her to suck it up, she buys stuff she likes all the time "

that really is, on my mothers good name. What she just said word for word.

" The only time I would be mad is if we where trying to save money, or if you lied about it "

    Man... I love my wife.

That's why I'm expanding my collection as much as I can now, I'm sure it will slow WAY down when I get married :D

But like someone pointed out, if the bills are getting paid and there's food on the table I've done my job so I'm gonna play if I can.

SOOO glad to be single sometimes...

Have a buddy who just intalled new hardwood floors, bought all new living room furniture, put up new curtains and paid a professional "interior decorator" to come and instruct him where to move each piece of furniture down to the millimeter (of COURSE the person you're paying doesn't move the furniture FOR YOU) to make the living room in-line with the latest TV style trends (also, apparently, to minimize available floorspace and make near-impossible the act of walking in the living room). All because the missus was tired of the way it looked before.

Now he's gonna have to give the rifle he planned to buy from a friend, back to said friend, because the missus says "We don't have the money for buyin any ******* guns right now!"

I gave him my thoughts on the situation, he just shrugged and said "If momma ain't happy, nobody's happy."

From the sounds of it, i'd be a horrible husband. Wouldn't stand for that crap.

    Holy topic creep, Batman... Sorry!

The good part is that she's only SEMI-anti, retraining should work. Much cheaper than replacement too... Note: cost of retraining mine so far includes HER two 1911s and PM9, HER range bag, her holsters, HER full array of accessories, at least ten tactical courses for HER, and me learning reloading to save on all of "HER" ammo! Regardless, +1 for my wife!

Husband grumbles a little about the money spent, but I hear him bragging up the Boy and me to his buddies when he thinks we can't hear him.

All kidding aside, to be fair, she is simi-anti for some very valid reasons because she lived through the Vietnam war. Hearing her stories of seeing people blown to bits as she walked to school made me realize that for a lot of people from other countries, there are many reasons not to like guns. From her perspective it's it's hard to see guns as "fun", yet oddly it was she who recommended that we "get something." Unfortunately, that lit the fuse on an all-new hobby for me, so while she tolerates it, she's not thrilled, even after she took the NRA Pistol Class. Sorry for throwing a blanket on my otherwise light-hearted thread.

for every toy i got meself i got the wife something shiny to wear.

time goes by.....years go by; she comments somewhere about year 20 that she has a lot of jewelery....needs another box to keep it sorted. on our 25th annniv i finally tell her about the 1-to-1. she never suspected though she did comment that i must have an awful lot of toys than. bliss can be many things...

the only heavy stuff i order is bullets and they will sit by the front door till i get home.

Guess I'm safe then, I'm always washing dishes, but she's a great cook so I'm not complaining.

Back on topic... if there is one, yeah I try to schedule the arrival of "those parts" when she's not around. She's not necessarily completely against it; she just doesn't like it and thinks that I already have enough.
