Dear Friends,

Not long ago, our state was facing the worst housing collapse in our history, the downturn had cost us more than 300,000 jobs, and our State government was bogged down by a 3-Billion dollar deficit.
Today, there are many indicators that we are headed in the right direction. Our housing market is on the mend, recovering faster in metro Phoenix than anywhere in America. Arizona ranked 5th in the nation for job growth during 2012. The Kauffman Index recently declared Arizona the country’s premier place for entrepreneurs. Our budget is now balanced, and we’ve set aside $450 Million dollars in the state’s rainy-day fund for the next time crisis strikes. Crime and violence in Arizona continue to trend downward. Arizonans have reduced crime by punishing criminals, and not by infringing on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Our State is getting stronger.
However, there are still many issues that cannot be ignored as we move forward.
President Obama will give the State of the Union address on February 12 before Congress. Although the president will dedicate considerable attention to the nation’s struggling economy and the federal deficit, we must not allow him to ignore significant domestic issues such as immigration in the state of Arizona. As citizens, we must demand the government’s attention.
I have worked to pass immigration legislation such as SB 1070 in response to the federal government’s failure to respond. I will not back down until President Obama and Congress do their jobs and address this issue.
Arizona and our citizens deserve a federal government that devotes its time and attention to issues that the people deem important. Please help us demand that the federal government commit to a secure border FIRST before addressing immigration reform. [donation request link removed.]
Arizona has many bright days ahead thanks to you and our state’s great leadership.
My very best,

Jan Brewer
Governor of Arizona

Emphasis added. Mr Cuomo, that's how it's done.

I need to move to Arizona...just need to find a job there first : p

I get requests in my monster inbox at least 3 times a week looking for a router guy or a unix guy. This speaks to the general health of the tech sector jobs out here if that applies to you. Of course, if you're not in tech, there are tons of jobs in support of the growth also. Everything from 7 figures down to entry level. Every strip mall i go to has at least one business with a help wanted sign. I think Intel is just starting on a new huge plant out here if I heard right.

If you're serious, start firing off resumes and make your resume available on Monster for Phoenix (other areas will take longer depending on population); you might find a relo deal if you have 15+ years in your field. If you're willing to pay your own relo and you're at least 5 years exp in your field, you will be inundated with offers. So, if you're serious, it can be done ;)

Well I've looked for probation jobs there and in Utah with no openings. After I finish up some extra schooling I'll start with the resumes.

We call it Community Corrections - there is an online application, and you can spend a year working inside the wire while waiting to test for Community Corrections. Just a thought. :)

You would absolutely love our great state and it's functioning 2nd amendment. Open carry or concel carry don't require any permits what so ever. And Brewer is again gong to try and do away with the gun free zones. She has done some incredible things with our self defense rights, and it just keeps getting better and better.
We welcome you to our firearm friendly state!
