Michigan 7th District US House Race - Vote 8/3!

If you live in this district, please vote in the primary August 3. We have 6 Republicans running, and the one leading is the worst of the lot: Joe Schwarz. He is unrepentently anti-gun. He supports the assault weapons ban and opposed concealed carry.

At least two of the other candidates, Gene DeRossett and Tim Walberg, have excellent records on gun rights, but Gene is doing better in the polls and has the endorsement of Michigan's top 3 gun rights organizations.

This *is* the election for this race, as the Dems ran grade C candidates and the winner of this primary will win the seat.

If you live in these counties: Eaton, Calhoun, Branch, Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee or the western part of Washtenaw Counties, make sure you make it to the polls and bring along a friend. We have to defeat Schwarz in this election.

Thanks for the heads up Barbara.
I've been looking into these two a bit. Both seem pretty good, although Walberg kind of impressed me in that he makes it blatantly obvious what his beliefs are (by listing them on his campaign signs).
Then again DeRosset seems to have a alot more support (at least in the funding dept) than any of the other candidates. Looks like we have a winner!
Both look pretty good. It's nice to actually have a real choice.
Another plus is neither of their names start with an S.

I'll be voting Aug 3 if I have to quit my job.

Walberg is a heck of a good guy, but I'm going with DeRossett this time. Unfortunately, the refusal of any of the candidates to drop out has almost assured Schwarz a win.
