Michigan SBR/SBS law change

Great ... the line for getting stamps just got longer!

j/k ... sort of ... but congrats!

The article has one line I'm confused about. Sawed-off shotguns would still be illegal.

Does that mean you can not form 4 a SBS?
If short barrel shotguns are legal, what does it matter HOW the barrel became shortened?

I'm in favor of this, obviously, but don't understand their distinction between a factory manufactured SBS and the one I could manufacture in my home.

Also, all of these SBR and SBS will be registered under Michigans handgun registration. Does that mean a SBR can be carried loaded in a vehicle, or carried concealed with a CPL?

I see the article says that Sawed off shot guns would be illegal. Not sure what the difference between a SBS and sawed off.

I read through the Senate Bill 610 and see nothing that that you can't have SBS.

THIS

SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A FIREARM THAT IS LAWFULLY MADE,

MANUFACTURED, TRANSFERRED, OR POSSESSED UNDER FEDERAL LAW.

I think this section is the relevant one from the bill. If you have the stamp you are good to go.

Just my 2 cents.

The new Michigan law sounds a lot like the old Tennessee law on SBS and SBR: legal if you have complied with federal NFA (Title II) regulations; "prohibited weapon" in TN if not in compliance with Form 1 or Form 4 federal registration/taxation requirements.
