Jan. 1st price increase, man I can't believe it and also out of stock.
After debating for a long time I was going to order a Loadmaster, but not with a $15 increase and the ridiclous shipping charge, I guess I'll just stick with my turret press.
Was thinking about a LNL but that went up $50 also, with the new E-Ject system.
But when one has limited funds as I do, it makes it tough.
Just venting some,sorry.

Rainier bullets are up 10% across the board at Midwayusa. I'm done with them, rediculous shipping charges too. I can order bullets direct from Berry's, 165 grain plated, $99 delivered. This is $30 cheaper than Midway, $114 + shipping.:barf:

I only order odds and ends from Midway, these days. Prices too high, and shipping too dear. It's a shame, because they're great guys.

Midway has gone to $*?! as far as I'm concerned. Their shipping costs are completely over the top and your lucky to find 1 or 2 things out of 10 in stock. And now the big price increases especially when metal prices etc have taken a big drop. No thanks I'll stick with powder valley whose service, shipping, and in stock inventory puts midway to shame.

i use midway cause even with standard shipping it only ever has taken like 3 days.... untill now anyhow.. still waiting on day 4, maybe since i ordered between so many holidays?:confused:

DITTO

Now use Graf's.

Have always done business with MidSouth and Wideners.

I "canceled" a recent order from MidwayUSA. They sent a query as to why. I e-mailed them a copy of my invoice from Graf's.

They didn't reply back.......................

Raniers had already priced them selves out of contention with me, even before Midways annual price increase. Grafs is sometimes cheaper, for sure.

I've been on official "screw midway" notice since about two weeks ago, and it's really too bad I didn't send them up the river with regards to my business earlier it would appear.

It's a free market, and good for them if they're making so much hand-over-fist money with the rush on everything guns since Barack Osama is on his way... but did ANYONE else notice they didn't offer their "christmas special" this year?

Every year I get an email from them at christmas that gives you a discount on most items for one order, to paraphrase "as a way of saying thanks to our valued customer at this holiday time".

Sorry that the economy is generally tougher and tighter on people than it's been in a long time. Sorry DESPITE it that the rush on guns and gun products is through the roof. And especially grateful to MidwayUSA, given that times are tough for most of us and their business is booming, that they felt it would be inappropriate to extend the offer to us again this year.

$%^* MidwayUSA - irks me that I dropped 1836.00 there in 2008. Grafs and MidSouth will happily take on my business instead.

It's a free market, so hats off to Midway if they can make money, but I'm one more person that won't use them...their shipping prices are absurd and other prices are only competitive at best in many areas (got some XTP from Cabelas recently that were quite a bit lower than Midway). They must be doing okay to turn away a lot of business like they are.

I haven't ordered a dimes worth of merchandise from Midway in years, no intention of changing. It's nice to see a company put the screws to their customers when they got the opportunity, do you think they'd be acting like this if times were tough for them?

I rarely use midway these days. Even before the current events they rarely had anything I needed in stock. + Premium prices + Premium $$ S&H cost. Graf & Sons gets most of my business these days.

I ordered a lee single stage press, lee carbide dies, a powder funnel, reloading tray, plastic ammo box, lee autoprime shellholder, and 100 ranier plated bullets all from midway. I selected the exact same items from Graf and it was going to be 12 dollars more, including midways shipping charges. Everything cost 10% or more roughly from Grafs. I dont think their free shipping is very free. On the other hand I only paid 10 dollars for USPS priority shipping from midway. I really dont feel as though I was gouged at all.

I can't really complain about Midway's prices. Mainly because every time I want to buy something from them, they're Out Of Stock. Consequently I never get to spend any money there.

I stopped using midway about two years ago. Just was not happy with everything. Been using Wideners, top brass and a couple of others for my loading needs. Could not be happier with them.

Even when Midway had free shipping, it was hardly free when you looked at the price for the item. Nice marketing ploy, especially prior to widespread Internet access for hyper price checking with a few clicks. I'm looking at a flyer from 1/97, and Sierra 6mm 85 HPBT were $14.49, Lee scale $24.99, Lee RGB dies $14.79... I remember when they went to customer paid shipping, and all the apologies they gave, and how they were loosing $$$ on shipping.

All you disguntled, former Midway shoppers can email Larry Potterfield via the site and let him know just how unhappy you are. I have done so a couple of times, and he has replied each time. Once was about the lack of USPS 1st class shipping, and it is now available for smaller packages. Let him know.

Well, placed an order tuesday, for a lee press, dies, powder funnel, shell holder for autoprime, and a reloading tray. As said above, after shipping it was still cheaper than grafs "free shipping goods" ( that really arent). I paid 10.45 shipping for USPS and was told that it would be here by the 5th. It showed up today with all items in the box. No complaints from me.

I just sent Larry Potterfield an e-mail, I won't be buying any more bullets from him, or his company. I can buy direct from Berry's, $99/1000 for 165 grain 40 S&W delivered.:)

I bought all my reloading stuff from Miday when I first started about 6 years ago. Since then I have bought some things here and there. I have always been pleased with their selection and the service was always great.

Fast forward to 3 days ago. I wanted to get the Trigger Job DVD by Jerry Miculek. Even with the ridiculous $8.93 shipping charge for single DVD it was still just barely cheaper than Amazon. Then I notice an extra $3 special handling charge being added to the Midway total. So I scroll down and see the following:

"†MidwayUSA attempts to keep our costs as low as possible so we can give our Customers the best pricing in the industry. Since we will accept any size order, there is a Special Handling Charge of $3.00 for all retail product orders under $25.00 and $4.00 for all dealer product orders under $40.00 to offset the additional costs associated with handling orders under these amounts."

I was reminded of a line from The Outlaw Jose Wales, "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's rainin' ".

I ordered from Amazon.

I'm done with Midway. $12.93 shipping and handling for a single DVD is not just absurd, it's insulting to my intelligence.

I don't know who Larry is listening to over there but he needs to do some serious house cleaning in the management. They are doing nothing but squandering all the good-will the company has built up with customers over the years and running the enterprise into the ground.

I have to admit I also wonder what the thinking is there of late. When they changed their policy of "free" shipping I sort of expected they would reduce the prices of their stuff to accommodate for charging for shipping, but I never really noticed any general lowering of prices.

I think everyone understands that shipping costs money, so it has to be paid for either directly or buried in the price of the products.

Maybe he is on his way to retirement and allowing underlings to do his thinking for him. Or maybe paying for Wednesday night TV is costing so much he has to raise prices to afford it.

I don't see anything good coming out of aggravating his long term customers with constant out of stock and high shipping prices.

I wish they would quit sending out that damn master catalog... My God, how much does it cost to ship that thing? I'll ask them to hold my copy if they would reduce my shipping charges... Yeah right.
