I am going to try for a Rockola. I wanted to also get a Quality or IBM but I have two Winchesters from CMP link6.gif and since I don't go to collector meets just take them to the range there is no real reason to get even more types.

I want but I don't need

I am in the same boat and keep going back and forth on whether I am going to get one. I want a Rockola and can afford it but it really doesn't make much sense. I especially don't like the feeling that I have to jump into the pool without first testing the water.

Sometimes that is the best way, once you get over the shock it is fine ROFL

I think thats Malcom X exercising his US citizens Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Looks like Home Defence.

The Carbine is a Great gun for such.
Having done 6 years for Burglary early in his life, his possession as a felon would have been illegal.

Only if he were alive and in possession today. Malcom X predated the GunControl act of 1968

In 1934, Firearms Act , 'violent Felons' were not allowed to own Firearms

The GunControl Act of 1968 made any felon in possession of a gun, illegal.

Depending on the state he was charged in, the burglerys may not have been "Violent"

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I was wondering if any of you M1 aficionados might be able to tell me what this is worth.

Was cleaning out my gun stuff and came across this bandolier of .30 cal m1 carbine ammo on stripper clips. It's marked LC 52 and doesnt appear to be the chinese knockoff stuff.

Unless theres some collector value to it, probably in the same range as the Korean stuff floating around, maybe a little less.

According to Ammo Seek, the Korean stuff is going for around $85 a bandoleer these days.

Thanks, trackskippy! You know of any forums where I might find a buyer? Most people are just looking for the popular rounds (9mm, 45, 5.56)

Its 11:25 EST and all thats left are Inlands. Wish I had the money to get an IBM or Rockola. I dont see the prices dropping ever and with Midway setting the standard at $2200 for some. I bet a handful will be shortly on Gunbroker being flipped for more. Unless another large cache comes up at a highly lowered price, I don't see their market value going down

I had a Winchester in my cart at 8:05 and talked myself out of it. Don't really need another gun I don't shoot.
It was my issue weapon in 1965 Air Force, but I don't feel that nostalgic about it.

I was on the website the instant it opened up, and the FINE Rockola's were not there, or maybe they never had them or the employees got them. Anyhow I tried for a VG-F and was in the checkout process when the site slowed down and it took 90 seconds for it to respond to accept name and by the time it responded it said they are all gone and emptied the cart. I ended up with a VF-F QH

You might try the for sale board here. Sounds like there area few right here that have Carbines. You've already got an audience. :)

I had a similar experience with a Winchester

The value will eventually go down substantially because they're a fairly incapable gun made in insane numbers, and the people who fetishize them are at the age where people die.
