I take advantage of Midway's birthday deal but it does not seem to happen every year. I guess I do not spend enough on a regular basis to get the deal.

Glad you got to take advantage of the deal.

I don'r spend much except for when I get the Birthday Deal. I do know that they've missed mine twice in the last 10 years, don't know why.

Happy Birthday sparkyv!

I'd be willing to bet there's a minimum amount you have to spend over a certain period of time to get the "birthday deal."

I got it for the first time this year and took good advantage of it. Combining it with some "free shipping" products made for a nice discount.

I keep a lot of things in my wish list, and when my b’day rolls around, I check the things in the list for the percentage discount. The discount varies depending on the item. I picked up a couple of items for nearly 50% discount, others were less than 20%. Still, I spent over $500 for a bunch of items I wanted but wasn’t in a hurry to get. I really like the b’day deal!

I'm making my b'day order now and contacted my friend in case he needs anything. I noticed some things don't have any discount and others have a nice one, the bullets I use don't have a discount, my "saved" order was about $80 and now it is $180 so looks like they will get over twice as much from me, (and still growing :))

There's some marketing tricks you can play with these offers. I know a retail outlet, not Midway, not firearms related, that offers super discounts periodically, but only to their so-so customers. The idea is the really good customers don't need an incentive, and the once or twice a year customers aren't a good percentage bet. But the ~5-10 times a year customers just need a little incentive to become more regular, routine. buyers. Of course, you don't want to piss off your big spenders, so you offer them other incentives.

Not saying MidwayUSA plays tricks. I think they're pretty straight shooters. But still incentives and discount are a tool for retailers to build customer loyalty.

Funny how that works. Same thing happens to me.

There have been a couple of years when they didn't offer me birthday pricing. I used to keep a list of stuff I wanted and would order it all on my birthday. Maybe they got wise?

As much money as I have spent with them over the years I feel like they should have a plaque with my name on it hanging in Larry's office.

I waited as long as I could before placing my "birthday" order, when I started I had 5 items on back order now there is 15:(,I guess the "covid-19" slowed down his incoming product, I had some items in my cart before I saw the sale prices that totaled $80 now my total with my order and back order items is over $400, I think Larry Potterfield or whoever came up with this idea made a brilliant business idea, I probably would have spread this order over a couple of months and maybe spreading it between a couple businesses but now he got all my order at one time:)
