Might want to check your Walmart Mini 14 $399

Called a store about 25 miles away to ask if they had one and the price. Yeah, he had one, been there for months, price $599 on the tag. I asked him to check it in the computer, big mistake. $399. When I got there, gone. I alerted him to the price, and somehow it disappeared in an hour.

Went to another store, last one sold that morning. Doesn't look like it's going to happen for me.
But, surprisingly, they did have a Rossi 92 in .44 mag in the case, haven't seen one anywhere for over a year. 16" blue, priced at $529.

Just got a vanguard 30-06 for $249. Don't have any immediate plans for it but hopefully it will come with me out west in the next two or three years. Or could make a real nice gift one day to a new hunter. There was a .243 and .270 left at the local store.

Unfortunately no mini's, would have had to have one at that price.

Great prices. Wall Marts in MA stopped selling guns at least 10 years ago, and many do not sell ammo. The guns they did have were mostly 22's and single shot shotguns. K Mart was the same way. They do sell air rifles and paint ball stuff though. I'm going to get my grandson a Red Rider when he's a little older.

Just picked one up at my local WM for $399 + tax. Guy behind the counter couldn't believe how good of a price it was.

Called around looking for a second one. Darn. Shouldn't have told. All gone within 50 miles of here. :)

Glad to have read this. Thanks much, I've always thought the Mini 14 was way cool, but a $500 gun, and never saw one priced where I would purchase, but did some driving to get in on this deal.

Well, the local store didn't have a mini, and I'm honestly not even interested in them at $400. But I did find a rifle for the wife on clearance. Savage Axis Compact .243 with Muddy Girl stock & Weaver 3-9x, marked down from $397 to $199 :D

Just ordered the 3.5# trigger spring kit, gonna thread the muzzle 1/2-28 this weekend, as well as hit Cabela's for brass & dies

Stopped at Wal-Mart #1 on the way hime tonight. There signature pad was down for the background checks so they couldn't sell it. Asked to see it, it was in the storeroom, guy came back and said it was on hold pending background check.
Called Wal-Mart #2, they had several instock, their electronic background check was down so the couldn't sell any guns. Asked if they could hold one for me and they said they can't hold guns. Both were marked $399

Guys, don't call Walmart asking them to scan the price on these if you're hoping to get one. You're just alerting the employees to buy them, or hold them for their friends before you get there.

Use Brickseek to check the store inventory and price. A few stores are still $599, but most are $399. When BS says "Limited Stock - 0" it usually, but not always means they have 1 left which is often the one on display in the cabinet. If it shows "Out of stock - 0", that's when it is usually really out of stock.

Many of the Savage Axis XP guns are also on clearance for $199. These are both in camo and the muddy girl pink camo.

It sure looks like the Mart will be selling Ammo only before long... caving in to liberal bullying no doubt.

They were put on clearance because they weren't selling at $799. The one a coworker got had been in the cabinet for over two years.

Everything me is sold out of everything listed. Word got out fast. Wish I had checked on the Vanguard Deluxe when I got the Mini 14. I did look at the 10/22 Take down but it was at the regular price.

They don't show actual numbers on guns. If it says limited stock they have at least 1.
Limited stock usually means they have the display model left even though it shows 0. If they have show more that, that's usually what they have in the back.

If anyone is interested, the Troy Ohio Walmart is showing limited stock. I don’t need another one.

I was talking to a guy working the gun counter at the Pullman, WA store last week. I
didn't even inquire and he said "hey, we've got a great deal on the Mini 14- $399"! Too bad I was
from out of state or would've bought one. He told me that Walmart decided they don't want to
carry them anymore and would get rid of them for 50% off. Unfortunately, the WM's near me
don't stock firearms.

You can buy a rifle outside of your state of residence provided the transfer complies with the laws of both your state and the one where you’re buying the firearm. And there’s nothing in WA law that would prevent them from transferring that rifle to you.

So unless Mini-14s are illegal in your home state (or if there are extra state purchase requirements that can’t be fulfilled by a WA dealer), you should have been able to buy the firearm.

Theohazard- I live in the Peoples Republic of Cali. Technically we can purchase firearms out of state
BUT with loads of restrictions. I would've had to make prior arrangements with an FFL in CA, then once
approved have Wallyworld ship it to the FFL. Since this was a clearance item, I don't know that they
would've been willing to do this. ......ah, if I'd only know in advance I could've done it, maybe.

Guess the word hasn't made it out to Vegas on this deal. Checked two WalMarts in town, both with one display model in stock, and both rang up at $599.

Ah, OK. But I didn’t know Mini-14s were still legal in CA.

I've called every Walmart in eastern Idaho that I know of. A couple of the "Associates" in the Sporting Goods Departments didn't know what I was talking about - that was pretty obvious. But all the rest of them just told me they'd sold their last Mini-14 anywhere from 3 days to 2 months ago.
So I guess I snoozed and lost out on the sale. It's not the first time I did that, and it probably won't be the last.
