Mini shell adapter

I've got it on my Maverick 88 and my Shockwave. Took them to the range today and had no issues cycling a mix of minishells and standard shells. I didn't have any 3" shells so I can't speak to how well they will work. I installed the follower in the Shockwave but not in the Maverick (mag tube is black loctited and i haven't worked up the gumption to break out the heat gun and strap wrench), but they functioned more or less the same.

This looks promising. One of the tactics long discussed around these minishells has been to make the last shell a full size 2.75 or 3 inch shell so that you not only get more power in that last shot, but the extra recoil alerts you to it being the last shot. The Opsol adapters didn't allow for that, but if these do then they immediately become a better adapter for using minishells.

Bought the Opsol when I picked up a shockwave...........stumbled on the Defender ad somewhere on the net and on a whim ordered one..............works like a charm, feeds everything with no stoppage. Look at the Co's video.

I bought the DefenderTactical based on this thread. Installation on a 590 was exactly as the website video. The only surprise, the ‘black’ component mounted in the receiver is a polymer. It took a bit of pressure to mount, but otherwise unremarkable.

My brother and I went to the range with my 590 with: mini’s, 2 3/4 00 reduced recoil load, and some 3” BB’s. One would load for the other, so all rounds were a surprise. The very first round (a mini), got tumbled - probably operator error. Third or fourth string - had a mini turn 180 degrees and try to enter the chamber backwards. A string of mini’s only ran like a champ. Otherwise no ammo attributable problems. Did have a couple fail to go into battery - again, I will attribute to the operator. The safety seemed loose, again not attributable to the ammo. For a shotgun that has had maybe 100 rounds through it prior…probably ran as well as could be expected. Would be entertaining to see how my duck gun (500, 1980’s vintage, with 1,000’s of rounds through it) would run. The 3 inch rounds were DISTINCTLY noticeable to all - shooter and spectator.
