Welcome! Whereabouts (you know - near which lake) are you located? Lots of Gophers, Bulldogs, Mavericks, etc. plus transplants (like me) on here.

Welcome from the south central area. Visit our indoor range in New Ulm if you are close .

We are in Eden Prairie area. Glad to be among fellow Minne soooo tans...... Looks like a great board with lots of good folks. Larry

I am new here too, and sorry to report that the city turned down my application for my own personalized basement pistol range.
Seriously, Minnesota is alright. Howdy to all my new neighbors. We should meet @ Bill's sometime.

Greetings from the southern end,im sure you'll find a ton of usefull information on here, I have for sure,

Greetings fellow Minnesotans, and fellow transplants.

Lived in Cottage Grove for a good long while, when I got to Bama I thought I would never see snow again except for Christmas at Grammas north of Duluth, I was SHOCKED to find out it does snow in Bama, of course nothing like we from the frozen tundra are used to, but enough that they will cancel school and not deliver the mail, who woulda thunk?

Southwest Metro here.

A Lutefisk shoot? That's a good one. Let me guess....the winner doesn't have to eat it?

Greetings, lived in The Cities and points along I-35 up to near Duluth for many years. Lived in wolf country for years, ya know the place that always had them, and still have a place up there.
The Cities wee not very keen on shooting firearms inside the town limits for some reason, even indoors. I shot in my basement but did not bother with asking as I knew the answer. What little noise escaped which the neighbors heard I blamed on air tools for home remodeling and other repairs. I only shot up to 38 Spl with wadcutters so noise was pretty light. The only ones that had any questions as to what I was doing was the neighborhood snoops and that was not until the open house when I moved. They just mentioned they thought there would have been more "new looking" interior improvements based on the noise.
I could go for a lutefisk/torsk shoot but not until the dead of next winter. That stuff smells bad enough frozen and I refuse to suffer its odor thawed out. I think it may even qualify as a hazardous material and the site used for the shoot would likely become a Super Fund site. Besides, it is too gooey to show any effects of being shot when thawed so frozen it would have to be.

Welcome from Eagan/Minneapolis/Woodbury (I live here and there).

Lex Luthier, if you live in the metro area, you should shoot at the Burnsville Pistol and Rifle Range - cheaper than Bill's, despite no rentals.

Burnsville pistol and rifle range

As far as the range in Burnsville goes, last time I was there in 2006, they were still building the rifle lanes. That range has the distinction of being not only the most strictly controlled indoor range I have ever been to, it is also by far the most expensive. Having never been to Bills, I cannot compare thier prices. But it serves its purpose, a guy has to have somewhere to shoot when its below zero outside.

Greetings from New Prague (south of metro)...Anyone like rifle shooting, reloading etc. we are here...Best Wishes All

I did not know that the Burnsville range was so young. It is fully operational, now. It's the only indoor range I've been to (and the only other I know of besides Bill's), but it is certainly cheaper than Bill's for a man toting his own .22 rifle. I don't know how to gauge strictness as far as range rules go, but I didn't feel like anyone was stepping on my toes, there.
Freerange, I would love to know of some cheaper indoor ranges around the metro area, if you know of any. For me, it's just burnsville and bill's. I wish I had more options.

I recently read that Minnesota became a state in 1885. It was originally started by a wayward group of of Norwegians who fled the unbearable heat of Wisconsin winters.
