IME, if they are used mismatched slides and frames, then yes, could be a big difference, as over time, the slides and frames develop wear patterns to each other. Question is, "How used are they?" The more used, the more specific the wear patterns will be, especially on aluminum frames. If you have the chance to select and fit various slides and frames prior to purchase, then that will go a long way to help find a set that seems to fit well with each other with less play / slop, etc.
