Got a long-awaited email from midwayUSA this AM that small pistol magnum primers (Remington) were in stock, just minutes before I needed to leave for work. Oh, hell, I thought, I'd place the order, but I don't recall how many I have on hand.

And I hesitate.

I ran downstairs, opened my primer storage can (a German-made rocket case with six latches), took a quick look, looked at my reloading bench, and I swear, within 60 seconds of getting the email, I sat down at my computer, clicked "order" and got the message "sold out."

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!

Back on the waiting list. I only have about 800 primers left right now.

Oh, well, maybe next year...

I guess you DID NOT see them available on website? Email sent once or twice a day. In todays world it's too late, so don't worry :)

I paid the ridiculous price of $36 before taxes for 1K small pistol primers at the gun show this weekend. My working stock was under 3K and there is no telling when the 5K I have ordered will ever show up. They were the only SPPs he had. I don't use any mag SPPs.

You can get primers from Natchez or Widener's.

Dont feel to bad about the hesitation- they most likely would have been sold out if you had sat right down and ordered them. I tried playing that game a lot a couple months ago and i never could get there quick enough. Even had my wife watching and trying on another computer at the same time as me on several occasions-already logged in and waiting. Never scored anything

If you order primers from Natchez, you are limited to 2k per order. Include shipping and hazmat, and that price becomes over $45/1000.

I have had great success buying primers and other reloading supplies from folks on a regional website. Just bought 10k small rifle primers for $30/k. These are the Wolf .223 primers, that I prefer, and bought for $14/k + hazmat a year ago. In these times I could have done much worse and to get 10k in one quick transaction with no hazmat fee is great.
