Missing part on hammer SXS

I've been trying to make the extractor activator on this nice old SXS Hammer gun. I think the part fits in the for-end iron and moves the extractors as the barrel is opened. Does anyone have a similar gun with the part? I think I can make the piece if I have an idea of what it is supposed to look like.

 

Do you have a brand name, model number or anything that would identify more clearly what it is we are looking for?

 

Looking at the off-kilter decoration on the sideplates I'd guess this is a workin' man's gun, maybe a Belgian export. (No disrespect intended.) Look for proof marks under the breeches.

There appears to be a ramp milled between the extractor channels in pic #7. Some sort of a finger might rest at the bottom of it as the gun is fired, then as you lower the barrels the finger could push the extractors up and out. The finger wouldn't have to move to do that. But a spring would need to be compressed and a latch tripped to pop the finger back in place, carrying the extractors back. Pics of the forend iron would help.

 

Folks, The gun in question is a no name no brand Belgium 12 Ga. The part in question seems to fit in the for-end iron curved slot shown in the photos. I was hoping that someone would have a similar gun with the part in place. I think that I can cobble a replacement if I had some idea of what it looks like. The logic indicates some type of lever that rides in the curved slots in the iron, bottom of lever moves via the pivot of the barrels thus pushing against the extractor rod. It is a simple job but the way this is built makes it hard to figure out.

 

The Colonel is correct, that finger thingamajig seems to be missing, it should look kinda like a shark fin. I expect you can find an example in NRAs firearms disassembly manuals. I will look at my stuff and see if have one similar.
