Picked up a brand new blued Ruger Vaquaro in .45 LC for $521(pus tax and transfer:rolleyes:)! Absolutely awesome gun! Range report and pics forthcoming, probably on Mon.

The LGS where it was purchased is very small and usually only has 1 or 2 guys there. Today there were at least 15 guys and gals, all wanting something semi! When we came in the shop owner had a ATI STG44, 2 M1 carbines and a GSG mp5 lookin thing. When we left they were all sold. Oh, I'll be glad when this is over!:(

2 inch group at 25 yards, and that flyer is my fault not the gun's. If I was a better shot I could have had a group less than an 1 inch easily. I am very impressed with the accuracy of this gun.http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/554314_203887839749132_923777841_n.jpg

This gun handles, IMHO, as good or better than a real Colt. Very smooth action, minimal recoil, and clean, crisp trigger. Couldn't ask for much more in a single action.

    congrats on the new vaquero.
I'm thinking that there are good buys on some good guns, like your Vaquero, that have been traded in on an AR or SKS or AK.
My son just bought a like-new Handi-rifle with a nice scope in 7mm-08 for cheap at our LGS.

I know what you mean. I would love to have an Ar15, but right now there are a lot of guns I would rather have. Especially with AR prices the way they are right now. Suddenly everyone, even if they didn't particularly want one before, are trading guns they love and vast amounts of cash, for an AR the won't use. It's kinda sad.

I hope you're casting your own bullets, and reloading for that .45colt.? Nearly as much fun as shooting!

I will be as soon as I can afford it! My brother does it and it looks like a lot of fun. Besides, if you want to shoot any decent amount you have to reload for economic reasons. $38 for 50 rounds is a little much to be shooting a lot. :/

Congrats on the new toy. I have one in stainless and it is a sweet shooter. Like Kbbailey said, I hope you reload for 45 Colt. It's fun and really increases the accuracy and versatility of the cartridge. Also, I sometimes load up some black powder cartridges for it. A little extra cleaning for the gun and cases but worth it.
