Way to go!!!!!
It is but it is sitting at a gun range so as long as it's paid in full (it is) I can visit and shoot it. Just can't take it home
Edited for phone text errors
I think you will love it.
I have the serial number and I am kinda curious as to when it was made.
Any one have resources to help determine that?
ETA: serial begins with AJS
Based on Google search, ajs puts manufacture in the mid 80's. 85 or 86.
But I don't know how accurate that is.
You won't be sorry, great purchase. It will serve you well.
Great find! I never find great deals like that
If you hadn't bought it, I was going to tell you to put a hold on it and I'll come up to buy it. I don't even need another one, but I could always use it as a back up to my patch gun
There is a model 29 of similar vintage and even better shape for 1k.
I believe put on consignment by the same guy.
Thanks, I'm looking more at competition guns. I remember having a M29 (I paid $375) at the height of the Dirty Harry era...mine was a nickeled 8.375" barreled model...and the novelty faded quickly; I think I traded it for my first Python
I just plunked down 500 for a 66-1 here in Ca., so your deal isn’t bad at all.
When I was looking, I couldn't find a 66 for less than 900 any where!
Pops has a 3inch that just shoots. I guess it was a DEA model or something
Around here used Taurus revolvers go for more than that, so good deal.
I'm in the camp that says a couple of light buffings with Flitz then a couple coats of Ren Wax, and it will look like a different gun.
Now I need to figure out what holster and grips to put on her.
I have lady sized hands but prefer slightly bigger grips to slightly smaller grips
As my competition revolver mentor used to say, "Try the Miculek grips," but then added, "People either love them or hate them...there is no middle-ground"
FWIW: All the top tier IDPA revolver shooters are using the Miculek grips
Always wanted to try them. Now I have a great excuse!
If you really don't like them, I'll buy them from you after you've tried them for a while.
If we shoot the same match, in the near future, I'll let you try my 686 competition revolver
That sounds great!
You make it up to gridley still?
Good Grief, STEP AWAY FROM THE DREMEL ON A BLUED GUN TO REMOVE RUST.!
Almost always the 4th Sundays for IDPA, trying to make the 2nd Sundays for ICORE.
I'll be there on the 23th
Will see if I can make it!
Smooth or checkered?
Assuming the you plan to use a strong hand reload technique
That's what I figured, just double checking
Separate names with a comma.
