Model 19-4 saved from the Seattle Furnace

My 19-4. I shoot only 140-158gr bullets and magnum level loads, never 38 Special. This model is pinned and recessed and requires that I trim 357 case to 1.265. I had the throats opened, which caused the cylinder plating to peel. Mahovsky's Metalife replated it for me. You can't tell. Grips are modified Herrett Detective, going for concealment and manageable recoil.

I bought a new 6 inch 19-6 around 1990 when they still had gun shops in Seattle. I liked it so much I bought a 2 inch 19-3 from a guy in a parking lot at Cabela's. All that was before the UBC and people sold guns like they still sell tractors here. Cash and a hand shake. Sadly that and home based FFL's have disappeared for the most part.

I would like to trade out of a few things but the process is just too onerous. I know someone who has about 20K worth of firearms they won't sell because of the legal hoops we have to go through here. None of those firearms have been used in 25 years. It's sad but a fact we deal with here in this state.

This is my 19-3. My 19-6 is in better condition. I put the original target stocks back on the 19-6 but it's just a safe queen. The nice thing about a 6'' model 19 is you can break a clay target at 50 yds without too much trouble. ;)

I have other S&W revolvers. There's an 31-1 and 36 in my safe also. All 60 ish models.
