I have a smith and wesson model 629-1 and the ser # is ahs 32## anyone have any input for me I'm trying to figure out what its worth

Thanks I appreciate it just trying to fi d a value now lol it's a 6 1/2 barrel with scope

Value would depend a lot on condition, barrel length and if it has original grips or not.

It has the black target grips
You need to post some pictures. I've never heard of or seen any black "target" grips unless they were aftermarket. The only Factory Target Grips I've ever seen on an older 629 would be wood. Depending of the things I mentioned above, your gun is probably worth $650-850 and that could also vary with what part of the country you are in. Guns do bring different money depending on where you are.

Does it look like this except with SW factory Hogue grip? If so maybe $700 for the "Classic" and maybe $100-$150 more for the Classic Deluxe. Joe

In 1985 the factory did not equip the M629 with Pachmayr grips. They did in 1989 on the 3" model. The M629-1 Classic Hunter was shipped with Hogue soft rubber grips on the AVZ serial #. I think your gun was shipped with Goncalo Alves grips.

I don't think those Pachmayr grips are original to that revolver but I do like Pachmayr grips.

Mine is an 8 3/8" Classic. $600 paid about 2 years ago.

Came with original box and factory wood stocks. Last owner had it ported and put Hogue grips on it. The grips were a good idea ;)
