I knew about the Girardoni and it's military service and Lewis & Clark but I didn't know about the Mortimer. Thanks for posting.

I know Dennis and have seen this rifle. The man is extremely talented to say the least. I’ve owned 2 Flintlocks built by Dennis. Both are poor boys but they don’t look poor

I think Harvey W. Mortimer would have been proud to have signed his name on Dennis' rifle. It's the highest compliment a master give a journeyman (and Dennis is far beyond journeyman level).
