Mosin makes venison in NE

    11-12-11 5:45 pm, Adams Co Nebraska. Just a very modest 3 x 3 but had a decent body which field dressed 155 lbs. Mosin Nagant , 1944 M44, Privi Partizan 150 gr. SP, 1 shot bang / flop from 42 long paces out of my ground blind.

    Congratulations! It is nice to see someone use a Mosin in our state to take a deer.

    Thanks, Mikee. This was the 3rd buck in as many years to fall to one of my Mosins. 2 years ago I dropped a slightly nicer buck with this same M44 and last year I harvested a young buck with my 91/30. Both have their own merits but I slightly prefer the longer 91/30 for hunting. Best regards.

    I didn't know anybody let people hunt their fields anymore in Adams co. LOL

    Mosin is a great gun for deer here too even though they get BIG. Shoot, I would trust a Mosin on a New Mexico Elk.

    Congrats! I took my 91/30 out this year but did not even have the chance to pull the trigger!:mad:

    Thanks, all. I made another thread on the doe tag I filled last night with this same M44.
