Should be a good squirrel or bird gun.

I rarely use anything but a 20 gauge for anything but waterfowl or when i decide to tote the 28. For clays and anything but wild flushing birds or waterfowl a 20 is all you need. Haven't seen many 30" 20s. I like a 28 but thats no big deal. Does it have choke tubes?

The 20 ga. is fine for 80 or 90% of what most of us do with a shotgun. Right now, some 20 ga. loads are hard to find, though I see more 12 ga. on the local shelves. If you decide to load it for defense, I don't think that the 20ga. gives up anything. Mine patterns very well with #3 Buck.

    All my best,

Hunting 'waterfowl' ? ahhh probably not.

    HomeLand Security Shotgun? Good Choice

Deer and smaller game hunting? the 20-Ga will do its part when you do yours.

Clays to pheasant, it will work just fine with the proper load and choke for the occasion.
