What do you think about the Knoxx SpecOps Stock?
Does it feel cheap or flimsy?

I've also looked at the the speed feed "short" model pistol grip stocks. Any feedback on those?

Anyone recomend the butler creek side folder?

Any other models I should consider? I've heard there are adapters that let you use an AR15 stock and pistol grip. Are there any good ones?

My mossberg and I have been growing apart over the years. It is the 20" barrel version with the full length magazine tube. It feels long and clunky and I have been thinking about switching to an 870HD. But I got to feel an identical 500 this weekend with a Butler Creek folding stock and pistol grip. It was one of the silver side folding models. It had a shorter length of pull and great balance with the pistol grip.

I am try to decide now which stock will be right for me. I'm not concerned about reducing recoil but I'd like a shorter length of pull and possibly a folding or collapsible stock. I'd rather be able to shoulder it so I don't want to switch to the cruiser grip.

i got a mossy 500 not too long ago. I went the mesa tactical option (mesatactical.com) and im glad i did. Kina pricy at the 150 range plus m4 buttstock and pistol grip. Even though its about the same, i like the addition of the rail that comes with it. I also got a 6 rd detachable magazine kit for it from knoxx the same people that make the spec ops. I put a red dot on it that i got off ebay for cheap. Im very happy what i have done with it :D

I put the Knoxx COPStock on my Mossberg 500.

It does reduce recoil significantly...enough that I can recommend if you're looking for a folder. I needed to shorten the length so I could stash it for easy access (but not locked up).

I had one on my 870 HD. It was VERY sturdy, and did a great job at reducing recoil. Unfortunately, I'm a "stock crawler" and couldn't get a good sight picture through my GR sights without getting far enough forward to get slapped on the cheek by the receiver during recoil. With a plain bead front, this shouldn't be much of an issue...

    Regards,

    Kevin
