So I bought a Mossberg 640KD/.22 mag. I have done enough research on most manufacturers to discover most offerings chamberd for the round are not inexpensive. I only paid 250$ for the rifle with a 4x scope attached. So I'm wondering is/are these particular rifles worth that much or did I waste some dollars? The main reason I wanted it is because my local indoor range will allow its use, giving me the opportunity to teach my son some marksmanship fundamentals in a safe controlled environment out of the elements. Washington tends to be a little moist this time of year.
Any thoughts?

You paid a little too much bit if you like it who cares. I have a 640kc and it shoots great. Don't rack the bolt too hard cause it has plastic pieces that can be hard to find if broken. Remember, 22 mags are very ammo sensitive so try more than 1 type of ammo. There is bound to be one that shoots well.

Yep, a bit over priced.

The triggers tend to be horrifying (think 13lbish), but is very easy to fix. Rimfirecentral.com under "mossberg" has guides on it. Basically you are removing metal from the sear where it touches the hammer. less surface area = less friction = lighter trigger pull.
