I was thinkin about gettin a Mossberg 930 with wood stock and 28in. barrel to shoot skeet, sporting clays, and hunt snipe and dove with. Does anybody have any feedback and experience with this gun if so I would appreciate any help with my decision

IMO, the Mossberg 930 is the best gun Mossberg makes right now....

It compares very well with guns that cost several hundred dollars more.

The only other gun in this price range I would even consider would be the Beretta 390 / 3901....

Smitty, what is wrong with the Stoeger 2000? Same price range as the 930. I own both the 2000 and the 930. Love them both. My son now uses the 930 and loves it. I use the 2000 and love it.

I agree that the innards of the 930 are based on the higher priced name brands. It is a good gun. The 2000 is also based on higher priced brand names.

I vote for either the 930 or the 2000 for camoman.

alright, thanks. I will most likely get the Mossy cause I've got a 500 12ga. and i like the placement of the safety. I also really like the way my 500 fits me. Just wanted a semi auto for a faster second shot when shootin doubles.

Nothing is "wrong" with them, but I have no direct knowledge of them (only 2nd hand), I know both you and EV have had great experiences. How is EV feeling?? Haven't heard from him lately..

The only two negative things that I have ever heard about are the stiff bolt release spring (fine after break-in) & recoil is a bit harsh (the Limbsaver pad takes care of that....)

Picked up a 930 SPX for HD and plan on getting a longer barrel for hunting later. Took it to the range last week just to shoot some rounds and cycle it. Shot some 3" and 2 3/4" with no problems other than leaving a bruise on my shoulder (3 inchers I would guess), but I bruise easily. Like the safety placement. Nice shotgun.

Mossbergs are made in the US.

Stoeger, while good are made in Turkey.

Stoegers kick a bit more, intertia driven and all, but are not as dirty prone as gas systems.

One thing though, I have had to use Mossbergs customer service because I lost a choke. They sent me a new one free of charge, and I lost the first one.
