I am looking to purchase my first shotgun and have seen many older mossbergs for sale under $200. Some have the C-lect choke system and im just wondering if anyone has any experience with this, is it a pro or a con???

thanks

C-Lect Choke

I also have the M550CR with the C-lect choke system. However I lost the choke during a hunting trip last winter. Would anyone know where I could find one of these??? I have looked everywhere! Thanks

Try www.havlinsales.com if Vic doesn't have any, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction....

Many years ago, I had a Mossburg 500 with the C-Lect Choke. It never gave a round pattern and I never liked it. I was glad to see it go when I finally sold it.

Hope this helps.

Mine worked fine, was butt ugly. I had one on a Mossberg built Revelation M310. Sold the barrel to a guy at work after buying a new 28" Mossberg vent rib barrel with screw in chokes. I traded a guy out of the gun, wanted it for waterfowl when steel shot got mandated and I had to retire my double, which wasn't steel shot compatible. I had doubts that the C lect choke would work long with steel, either, thus the conversion. The barrel cost me 100 bucks with a modified choke tube included.
