$399.

No I've googled around but as for real pawn shop prices is that pretty good? It's the 9 shot model with very thick barrel, rifle sights to. Granted it's a 20 inch barrel, and a bit heavy.

Looks brand new. Not a scratch on it and little wear on the pump arms connected to the bolt.

Thanks,

Bud's has a M590A1 with a 9 shot 20" heavy barrel, ghost sights, and parkerized finish for $541.

Yeah, I would say your pawn shop find is a pretty decent deal.

If you need this type of gun that is a good price. Make them reasonable offer if you are interested.

I bought one brand new 12 years ago for 600ish out the door, yes $400 sounds good to me.

I didnt realize these went for that much. Guy i know wanted to trade one for one of my rifles, i didnt like the way it handled so i passed, probably shoulda taken it.

They are big and heavy. If you want a 590A1 the 18.5" barrel, 5+1 or now even 6+1 models are much handier.
I agree 100%. I sold my 9-shot 590A1 for a 5-shot 870 Police and was far happier.

The 9-shot 590A1s are VERY poorly balanced and I just hated it, they can stick that ULTRA DUTY THICK HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY wall tactical barrel where the sun don't shine, no shotgun has or does need than in a civillian or LEO, or even most military roles. It was designed to reduce barrel damage onboard all-steel navy ships and inside tanks etc.

Gun is still there. My plan is to wait a bit, keep an eye on it, and when they have a sale (which they do now and then) see if I can talk 'em down to $300! Patience is the key! I have a 500 Mariner stainless with Tac-Star 4 shot side saddle. But I've always wanted the ghost ring sights and Mag pull furniture (and that would cost me almost $300 right there!

Hope everything goes according to plan. Would always worry me that right before I would make my offer someone would come along and say: "Gee $399 is a decent price for this Mossberg!" and walk out with it.

Good plan. While HD/police type guns sell surprisingly quickly when priced reasonably there are infinite number of choices out there. I would not worry if this gets sold another will show up quickly.

Where in the hell part of Texas are you at friend? I was at a pawn shop in the hill country and they wanted 549 for a beat to death M590A1, needless to say I laughed at that price and left.

If it were me I think I would (pardon the pun), pull the trigger on it now. That's a mighty good OTD price. Just sayin'...

New one is $500 + tax & or transfer fee + plastic Magpul furniture so you would be saving half by buying this. The complicating factor is you already have hd shotgun. Faced with similar situation as yours I did not buy the gun to supplement or replace one I already have . Assuming the gun you own fits you well large ring apeture at receiver end isn't going to make much difference even when shooting slugs.

Well I went ahead and got my S&W 19-2 out of hock (that is on lay-a-way.) It's a mint condition 4 inch .357 at a very very good price. It's an investment, not a shooter.

Now if that M590A1 is still there next week, I just might put it up for a birthday present.. for me.
