Mossberg/Sabot question

the 590 does not have a rifled barrel. you CAN shoot them sabots through the cylinder bore ( tube) barrel of the 590 but accuracy will suffer greatly. you want to use rifled slugs for smooth barrels and sabot slugs for rifled barrels

Slugs tend to have pretty stout recoil, so unless you're planning on deer hunting or similar, you might want to switch to one of the "reduced recoil" loads. Also, slugs can / will punch through several walls, so they probably aren't the best choice for home defense.

You keep saying "shot", did he sell you shot (like buckshot) or did he sell you slugs? Only the slugs have a sabot, that plastic thingy is called a shot cup and does what it sounds like.

Not sure were yall are going with this but I just thought id give me 2 cents worth. I personally own 3 mossberg 500 pump action shotguns in 12, 20, and, 410 ga. All of which handled slugs very nicely. Any way just wonted to give my 2 cents worth.

I just deleted my posts referring to sabots, because the shells I bought are not sabots. I thought they were.
