What is the least (and the most) number of rounds anyone here has on hand right this second for firearms you own? Any reason for the quantity?

Least: I have a PA-63 and no 9x18 on hand (just bought the gun, waiting for the gun show next weekend to buy ammo). Runner up: 6.5x55 Swede: 30 rounds (box and a half). I just don't shoot the Swedish Mauser that often any more.

Most: Approx 2500 rounds of .22LR. Since that's not a "real" round, about 2200 round of 7.62x39. Bought several cases when it was cheap, I've been wearing the pile down. Need to build it back up before the price increases and I think today was cheap.

The most that I have is of 45 ACP. Don't laugh, but at last count I was just shy of 3800 rounds. The reason is that for a while, two of our four Walmarts had CCI Blazer Brass for $9.47 per box. Knowing that the price would be going up sometime soon, I stocked up whenever I could. Well, "a while" turned out being nearly a year and I ended up with quite a stockpile in preparation for the price hike. About a month ago it finally went up to $14.88 per box. I've also been saving my brass and have got about 1000 cases ready for processing whenever I get into reloading.

Next would be my 7.62x39, of which I have about 1600-1700 rounds for my SKS and AK. 600-700 of Wolf and a new 1000-round case of Golden Tiger.

Then I've got about 1000 rounds of 22lr and maybe 120 or so of .270 Win.

I've also got a 1000 round case of Lithuanian .308 on the way for my not-as-yet-acquired M1A. I got a little bonus and felt it'd be wiser to spend it on ammo that keeps getting more and more expensive everyday. I'll be getting the M1A in the next couple of months, hopefully.

I keep around 500 .223, 400 .40 S&W, 200 .270, 200 30-06, 100 7.62x54r and only around 100 30-40 Krag. My quantities are dictated by what I shoot the most. If I get on a kick with a different rifle, or find good deals on componants, Ill get more ambitious.

The round I have the most is 7.62x39 followed by 22lr.
The round I have the least is 7.5 Swiss. All I have is 60 empty brass and my bench is too weak to stand the force it takes to resize them.:(

I only have about 1000 rds of .308 and a 1000 rds of .30-06...But I'm working on that.

The most I have is 5k or so rds of 7.62x54r. I stocked up on that when it was somewhat cheap.

least I have 15 .223 bullets and its killing me not to shoot it as its my new gun and i love it.
Couple hundered various shotgun rounds
1000 er so .22lr for fun

least 45 acp... less then a box :(

most 16 ga, just loaded up another 2k shells... should last me about a year.

Over 1/2 box 16 ga
1 box 410 ga
3 boxes 20 ga
30 rds 222 rem mag
About 75 rds 357 Sig
100+ rds 40 S&W
100+ rds 357 mag
200+ 38 SPL
200+ rds 44 mag
300+ rds 45 ACP
500+ 12 ga
500+ rds 50 BMG
600+ rds 7.62x54R
1500+ rds 9 mm
1500+ rds 5.56
1500+ rds 7.62x51
2000+ rds 22 LR
3500+ rds 7.62x39
If you look at the numbers, I have the most ammo for guns that I like to shoot and shoot often. No reason in particular for buying ammo other than to punch paper with it.

Least: .222 ... For the last two years or so I've had one round, an old peters lead soft point from who knows when or where. Reason: I had 11 rounds before I had a rifle in .222. I wound up with a rifle so I fired 10 of those rounds. I decided it's a rifle that really should have a scope, and I don't have scopes on any of my rifles, so I packed it away until such time as I feel like scoping rifles.

Most: .22LR ... many-thousand rounds. Yeah, it's cheating. Deal. :)

I don't really go crazy stockpiling ammo I'm set up to reload. If I don't reload a particular round I keep a bit more on hand. My reloading setup right now is optimized for loading less than 100 rounds at a time but 100 rounds of centerfire per gun and a few boxes of .22 can usually keep me happy on a range trip.

Most: 7.62x39. I had a bunch laid in, saw the price hike, rode it out, caught a few good deals towards the end of it, then ended up buying more from friends who were letting it go for low prices for various reasons. Combine that with not shooting any for quite some time and you end up with a glut. Not that I'm complaining.

Least: 7.7 Arisaka. I have one round. :uhoh:

Mike

PS Oh! and .44 magnum. Also one round. It will probably stay that way for a while, too, since I don't own anything chambered in .44 magnum. Someone found the round and thought I should have it, since I'm the local gun nut. I think I seriously disappointed them when I told them that I didn't own a gun that shot it. ;)

I always get a kick out of survival experts who say you need 10,000 rounds for each **weapon** you own.
If only....
Well, if I could afford it...

Mike ;)

The most I have is .22 LR. It's so useful and cheap that everyone should have a couple thousand rounds of it.
The least is .410 gauge but I really don't use it much anyhow. It's only really kept for sentimental reasons and teaching new shooters.
Also need more 9mm but I'm working on that.

Marlin 60/Ruger 22/45 (22lr) = 3000rd Federal bulk
Yugo SKS (7.62x39) = 500rd Wolf MC JHP
Kel-Tec P11 (9mm) = 15rd Winchester 115gr FMJ
NEF Pardner (12ga) = 100rd Remington 1 1/8oz #8 - 25rd Remington 1oz #6 - 100rd Wolf 00

Normaly only buy when I see a good deal but they are geting harder and harder to find, so it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy some anyway. :(

What some of those guys need is a visit to the dentist, barber, and if they're telling you that, a psychiatrist...

Least-- 7.62x39, I only have around 40-50 pieces right now. To make it worse I own 3 rifles that take this round (1 AKM, 1 RPK, and 1 SKS)

Most-- 22LR, have around 2,000 rounds sitting in a can right now.

Most other calibre that I shoot I have anywhere from 100-300 or so rounds.

Most: 7.62x54R - I got in a buying frenzy when it was $30-$40 for a case. I just had to have some of each kind. Have over 10k on hand. I'll never shoot half of it probably, unless I buy a PSL. Runner up: 7.62x39 and 7.62x51. Very near 10k of each. It's nice to go to the range and bang off a couple hundred rounds through my FAL or SKS and not worry about it.

Least: 303Brit - fell way behind the cost curve on it. Have a case of POF "click bang", a few hundred rounds of SA milsurp and maybe 600 rounds of various commercial. That will last me a while though. Runner up: 30 carbine - almost 2k of Aguilla and 800 rounds of Wolf.

I can't imagine what it's like to have only a box or two of a caliber. If I get down to less than a case, I start scouring the web for more.

I'm also the type who never lets my gas tank get below 1/2 full and keeps at least 6 boxes of my favorite cereal in the cupboard. Let's not even talk about the TP stock in the bathroom cupboard.
