most loved: K98's just can't ever get enough Mauser

most hated: 10/22...I know it's a popular gun, and many people swear by em, but I've had a few of em, and never had anything but trouble with em.

Most loved/hated for me is the Browning BDM. Carries easily, points well and is very accurate. The only thing worse than the double action pull is the single action pull !
Nobody I know can figure out a way to lighten either pull.

Sold it and then bought it back. It may take a while to get mad enough to sell it again.

Another vote for Hi-Point. The HP fits in both categories - - Most Loved AND Most Hated.

The HP-Fan-Boys love them as all <fill-in-the-blank> Fan-Boys should. Then you got those who don't own one and never will in this or the next life call them garbage because they explode in your hands - kill you along with those in a 10 mile radius - when you pull the trigger.

Some folks aren't getting the intent of this thread, but most are :) It's not about which guns YOU most love and/or hate. It is about the guns which stir the pot the most. The most controversial guns to admit that you like, in an unknown crowd.

For example, imagine going to a meeting of classic revolver fans, and admitting that your favorite gun is a Hi-point!?!? ...see? Major faux-pas ;) In the same crowd, if you said you most loved a Baer 1911, that wouldn't get the same reaction.

THAT, right there, is what this thread is about. It is my opinion that some guns are so loved by one group while being so hated by another group. I kinda like guns like that. I'd own some guns, just because they raise so many eye-brows, like the Hi-point :)

We are cool Tar :) You are still totally welcome to post up some of your loved/hated guns in this thread. I'm happy hearing that side of it too!

At least among SIG fans, it is all of the new SIGs.

Most Hated: Anything from Rohm (RG##). They don't even make good trotline weights.

Ruger P95s are extremely well made guns and sold quite inexpensively. Lots of people who own them are true converts but those who don't call them chunky, blocky, hate the double action trigger (which is a wonderful design as it works like a revolver and provides a "safety" as the first shot takes some finger muscle to fire it off). I think there are those who turn their nose up to the gun since its not very costly. IMO, a great gun at a great price...get one and you'll see what I mean.

I don't care what people say! I love my 770...with a decent scope my groupings are 3" at 200 yards. For a $250 rifle.....not bad! Say what you will about quality but most people that talk bad about the 770 have never shot or even held one.

Well I would have to say that Glocks are as heartily hated by some as they are loved by others. I have a G32 and really like being able to change barrels and use 9mm and .40 S&W. So I guess I wouldn't say I love Glocks, but I do think they are perfectly adequate. As far as most loved, I would think it would be some sort of .22.

Yeah, I hear you, but I'll tell you this...

I love my 1965 Winchester 94 & my Gen 2 Glock 19. Both are damn near perfect firearms in that they have never failed to do what I have asked them to do.

I'm rather fond of my Ithaca 37. I think it's an underrated shotgun.

I don't like Glocks, but I really don't like Glockniks. I realize that while Glocks are very good pistols, they don't fit my hand. But it seems like making such an innocuous statement as this results in being swarmed by Glockniks who claim you are doing it wrong, that the Glock is the most ergonomic pistol that will ever be invented by man, and that you are a 1911 swilling grandpa who is afraid of technological progress.

I'd consider buying a Glock if the came out with a straight gripped model.

Gotta say I would totally buy one of these! no lie.
(tho I don't know about the G18 selector switch, full auto might be wasteful with only 7 rounds :neener:)

As far as the dead horses that continue to get beaten more than any other on forums...Hi Point, Taurus, Glock...those are the ones I'm sick to death of being arguing about haha. Runners up would be the 1911...AR vs AK vs SKS vs Mini 14...9mm vs .40 S&W...forums bring out every concievable type of fanboy lol.

I don't think any firearm stirs up love/hate threads and comments as much as Glock pistols. I personally hate them and I'm more than happy to share my opinion anywhere I'm allowed to. :) There are lots of "one vs. the other" topics like 9mm vs. .45ACP, AR vs. AK, etc. but nothing polarizes a room full of gun nuts like the word Glock.
