Over the last 3 days I spent $750 on ammo (2000 rnd .223 and 1000 rnd .308). This makes for an interesting question. How much is the most you have spent at any one time (over say 5 days or less) for ammo for personal no commercial use?

Several years ago, I spent $950 on ammo of various calibers at a gun show. It seemed like the ammo deals were "jumping" out at me every time I turned around! Thankfully, I had a good friend who had rented a vendors table at that show, and he allowed me to stow what I bought under his table until the end of the show. He also let me use his push cart to haul all of that ammo out to my car. In return, I helped him haul all of his un-sold goods out to his truck at the end of the show.

One of my buddies bought nearly $1,200 worth of ammo from on-line sources, and it was all delivered over the course of 3 days. The UPS driver that made all of those deliveries turned out to be a shooter, and was eventually invited for a shooting trip. That was about 10 years ago, and he's still one of our shooting buddies, but no longer works for UPS. Not all UPS drivers are idiots!

Just two days ago I spent right at $400 on ammo. By far the most I've ever spent at once. Before that my max was 1 case of .308 for ~$160.

Several years ago I spent about $2k over a 2 day gunshow. Ammo specials were everywhere and I had arrived wanting to pickup a rifle and pistol, but found neither, so I stocked way up on my major calibers.

I guess it was about $350 a couple months ago at a gun show.

1 case .233
1 case 7.62x54r
4 battle packs SA .308

Man, some of you guys are high rollers...

I think that i spent about $250 once on a case of 45 and a case of 9mm.

about 4180 i would say at a time. i don't buy alot at one time, but alot here and there, definetly no where near the way some of you guys do, but I am able to do pretty good in the ammo department.

When the goverment said they
were going put a 1000% tax
on ammo to keep down crime
I bought $ 500.00 worth
of ammo, every kind I had but,
law never passed so I've been
using it up.

I do not spend a whole lot of money on ammunition for my home. I have a couple hundred rounds of each on hand but since I cannot use my own ammo at any of the local ranges I do not go through alot of my private supply. Seems I buy a few boxes and they stay in the safe forever.

The most at one time for me would be 500 bucks worth of reloading components (bullets, brass, powder, primers) bought about a year ago and I am still trying to get everything loaded :).

Just my .02,

The most for me was $250 when I took two clients shooting my Thompson SMG over their lunch hour.

That $250 went in 45 minutes.
