Moving to another state and buying from an FFL

I'm considering a move within the next few months. What are the laws regarding how long one must reside in the new state before buying a firearm from an FFL? Will I need a new driver's license in the new state before I can buy the gun?

If it helps, I'm considering a move to VA, NC, or SC.

in Virginia: it depends alot on which county you purchase in.
