Mp5?

Thanks Preacherman, I'm argueing with a gun control person on another board. HE brought up the MP5 anyway I should have searched the net....Thanks for the link

MP5 is (properly) a submachine gun. IOW, select-fire, pistol-caliber bullet hose. Very handy at the shorter ranges, but get less effective rapidly past 50-100 yards. Mechanically an excellent weapon, controllable, and I really appreciated the collapsible stock when I needed it. With the stock collapsed, you can stuff the gun and a bunch of loaded mags into a backpack, easily. Very handy. (Not in this country, guys). I don't even know ( I never bothered to look) if there are MP5's available on the US market manufactured before 1986, which would be the pre-req for us joe-citizens to own one, after going throught the ATF hoops. All of this is independent of the AWB junk. Different law.

(After a bit of thought, there must be legally transferrable MP-5's out there, as I think some members own them). I couldn't afford the gun or the ammo I would expend, though.:what:

One thing I find most common about the people who support gun control is they don't have a clue what's already illegal. I'll point out one or two common laws and ask them to look up which of the other regulations apply for me. They don't do it of course, and if they could it would take years to review all of the federal gun laws, much less state and local.

The only way to go.....

:D

(Looks like the prices have gone up again...$16K, wow)

Woowee are those things going up in price! It's amazing what supply and demand can do. Maybe some day I'll win the Lotto, move to a normal state, and get me one of them. And a truckload of ammo to feed it. :p

I was just barely able to save enough to buy a Sten. Pisses me off. A friend of mine got a MAC last year for $1500. They're twice that now.

I'm glad I didnt pay a penny more than the $225 I paid for mine!:D

Yeah, I was explaining what the end of the AWB really means to a person at work...

"That's all it was?! That was pointless!"

So now they kinda understand more of where my arguments come from...

No, it is a machine pistol (hence the name).

Yup...HK calls it a "machine pistol" on their site, too:

While it may literally translate to "Machine pistol", that does not change the fact that it is in no way, shape, or form, a pistol.

Submachine gun.

Placed in single shot, the MP-5 will easily keep everything in a 5" bullseye at 100 yards.

Good for me then I liked shooting the MAC-10 much better than the MP5!

Now, if I could just hurry up and turn 21, so I can get one before the prices go up any higher
