I find it interesting that all this supposedly massive hoard of parents who are screaming for government to make the schools safe by outlawing various guns are still sending their children to school even though nothing has changed.

If people are really afraid their child will be the next school shooting victim, where's the mass truancy? If you're still sending your child to school, you're clearly not suffering from such a fear.

Such a thing would never happen in THE SCHOOL WHERE MY KIDS GO! These things always happen in other schools. Besides, our schools are gun-free zones. They have a sign that says so on the door and in the parking lot.

If this wasn't the case you'd see some changes made fast.

I don't think it's like this at all. I think people know that there's virtually zero chance that a shooting will occur in their child's school AND that nothing the antis in government are proposing would stop one anyway. I think they see the gun-free zone as the thing that causes the tiny chance that does exist, thus the results of the poll.
