Hey guys, something I noticed today is that my Colt 1903 seems to have a lanyard ring to the front of the grip, and I don't know if it was added afterwards or not. The factory grip has been shaped to fit around it, but the only thing I can find about lanyard rings is in reference to the 1908. Anyone know if this is factory or not? Pics below. Thanks!

Looks like a nicely done addition to me.

I think if it were factory, the grip checkering border would continue around the cut-out for the ring.

No to say someone at Colt didn't do it though.

Back then, the manufactures would add anything you wanted if you wanted it and could pay for the extra work.

Only sure way to know would be to pay for a Colt Factory Letter.
