I won this at a decent price , $190 , as it is as new. I paid almost $600 shipped for my T/C Cherokee .32 rifle which was cheap for a .32 and I wanted it. .32s go for more for some reason beyond me, scarce I guess. Anyway for what I want a .32 to do this is fun and will go with the similar configuration Lyman .50 Plains pistol.

Congrats! Beautiful lines to that pistol. I’ve been on a blackpowder kick as of late. Still hunting for a decent example of a CVA percussion Kentucky Rifle in .45 cal. Haven’t had any luck and been looking for 4+ months on a popular local site.

I agree I purchased over time two new 36 caliber rifles one was $602 and the other on sale was $649 and I felt this was high but like you I wanted them ;)

I got the pistol and will be shooting it July 3 & 4th . Very pretty gun, more svelte than my .50 Lyman Plains pistol but similar grip, good walnut and excellent inletting and finish. It was made in 2008 and new unfired. It has a 10 1/2" long barrel and the barrel is fairly heavy profile and the sights are precise. It seems like it will be a neat target pistol. A Hornady .32 pistol ball rolls smoothly down the bore with no slop , so I presume the patch will hold it in place and take the pretty rifling. My Cherokee T/C is a little tighter bore and that ball will not roll in and out freely. In my 1849 Colt Uberti that ball shaves lead when loaded into cylinder and will not enter bore by hand. I presume all Traditions Crockett .32 rifles are the same. If any one has one what thickness patch and what diameter balls do you use .

Reading through a recent thread on the MLF about the Crockett rifle.
Folks mentioned loading .310 ball or.311 cast ball and .015 patch, and .311 ball and pillow ticking [.018 patch].

Thanks, I have alot of .50 ox yoke pre lubed .015" patches seems A good place to start. I shoot 30 grains of Goex fff in my Cherokee .32 with the .310 Hornady balls and ..010 patches lubed with anhydrous lanolin . The T/C bore is definitely a little tighter. I am gonna start with 20 grains for the shorter pistol Barrell and then see if 25 grains is better or worse groups
