Budrowbob, glad to read your report on exercising your carbine. Import carbines are meant to be enjoyed and shot like you hate them. i have two Inland carbines. One's a collector grade the other is a shooter grade. I find M1 carbines to be an absolute delight to shoot....and fun to collect.

I’m glad I’m a shooter and not a collector.

A couple of quick follow up stories about Blue Sky's...

The first was from the LA Riots in 1992: I was working at a pretty good sized gun shop to help out with college tuition at USC. At the time, we could sell M1 Carbines as a curio and relic to avoid the 10 day waiting period. The owner of the store labeled them at WWII Assault Rifles and we sold several UPS truck loads of them. We dedicated a corner of the store to teach people a brief manual of arms in a rotating manner. We had times for AR's, AK's (MAK90's at the time), Pump Shotguns, Handguns, M1 Carbines and "Other Firearms". The M1 Carbines were so popular that we had to increase the number of times in the hourly rotation. M1 Carbines and Mossberg 500's were probably our best sellers during the riots.

And the second: Once things settled down, my dad asked about getting an M1 Carbine. He loved shooting one of his buddies and wanted one for himself. We had a customer we called "Carbine Charlie" who truly was a carbine expert. Whenever a good sized load of carbines would come in, he would lay them all out one the floor and rebuild them as best as possible into a matching rifle. For this, we let him have first go at each shipment. I told him I needed a good shooter for my dad and he laid out about 20 carbines and built him a really nice matching Winchester. It worked flawlessly and is still a great shooter today.

Anyways I hope I did not bore anyone, but I am on COVID quarantine round three and getting pretty bored myself. The first two bouts were very mild and this one feels like a pretty bad cold, but I am quarantined nonetheless. So after too many hours in the internet today, tomorrow will be a reloading day.
