I got started anyway. The lower receiver is a Yankee Hill YHM-15, CMC parts kit and a CMC 3.5 lb. straight trigger. I've got an SBA3 brace that should be in this weekend so I can finish it off. The upper is a 10.5" PSA, carbine length gas system, MOE m-lok handguard, A2 front and m-bus rear sight, and a Sig Romeo 7 red dot that should be in Monday.
Why those bits you ask?
I've used the CMC on my 3 gun AR for years and really like them. Smooth and crisp with enough pull weight AD's are unlikely.
10.5" because I wanted to have a carbine length gas system. It's been a couple of years but I used to shoot a couple of friends 7.5" with pistol length gas systems and they never seemed very reliable. I'm sure they have fixed those issues by now but utter reliability is the game for me. PSA sells the complete 10.5" like I wanted but the prices are sure higher now.
M-bus rear sight, I've had one on my HD AR15 for a couple of years and despite being plastic they seem stout enough.
The MOE hand guard is light weight, stout and takes m-lok accessories for mounting a light. Since I don't anticipate using it at 300+ yards who needs a free float handguard.
The Romeo7 might seem a bit big for a pistol but I like the 30mm tube, it gives you a wide angle for seeing the dot in unconventional shooting positions. I've been using a Sig Romeo 5 on my Ruger PC Carbine and it has been reliable, so why not. 62,500 hours battery life on one AA battery, I may only get one battery change the rest of my life.
