In spite of their track record of getting me things they think I should want rather than the things I've asked for, I have some hope that my family might make some of my firearms related fantasies come true this Christmas. So here's my Christmas list, arranged in order of cost before shipping and FFL. Top five choices in bold.

Turkish Mauser. Around $50
91/30 Mosin-Nagant. $60-70
Romanian .22lr trainer. $70
Finnish M-39. Prefer the Valmet. $130 in VG condition. My second choice.
Yugo 59/66 SKS. $100-150. Number four.
Ruger GP-100. I've seen an ad in Shotgun News selling 4" half lug barrel stainless w/ a bobbed hammer for IIRC $249. Number three.
STG58 parts kit. $295 from DSA. My first choice.
Good AK-style rifle. Several are available for around $300. Number five.
Cetme w/ the plastic furniture. Around $300

I could go on, but even with all of them pooling all their money into one gift I'd think $300 is about it.

Having laid that out, I've got two questions.

1. What's on your Christmas list?
2. Anyone care to contribute to the "Buy Balog a gun for Christmas fund?" ;)

My list... no will pay the $ for what would be on it anyways so why make one. Besides, wife already said she'll buy me a 40th ann. ed. 10/22 for my b-day in March.
I'd contribute but I'm spoiling my 2 yr old son this year. :)

Saiga 7.62X39 with a nice little red dot scope.

and of course a spotting scope since i will be at the 100 yd range with my new rifle:D

I just want to get an SKS or an AK style rifle for Christmas. I would mind some goodies for my pistols but I want a rifle.

I really wish I could find a place outside of Portland where my brother and I could go shoot rifles. Our range is an indoor pistol range. We don't want to spend the money to join a rod and gun club witha rifle range but also have no idea where we can go shoot in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe I'll buy an SKS at the gunshow this weekend and follow the northstar and it'll lead me to a nice rock quarry :D

1. Verona SX405 semi-auto shotgun $309

2. SAM-7 with the optics mount $669

3. 1000 round of ammo for each gun i own. $900

4. better sights for my Sub 2000. where'd i put my dremel tool?

and thats just the cheap stuff!

Micro: wow, I'd have thought it wouldn't be overly difficult to enter the US legally from an allied nation. Apparently I'm wrong, tho. What would you have to do? Also, would it be possible to go to Switzerland (which AFAIK is the most gun-friendly country in the world)?

Visiting is easy. Staying is hard.

Tell that to the 20,000 people from Mexico that just moved into my Grandmothers neighborhood :D

Seriously though, don't you just have to prove you can get a job to come here from a country that we have good relations with?

New Mepros for my one Glock
7.62x39, 9mm, and .38spl ammo
a digital camera
cordless drill
a decent spotting scope
more SKS's

In my current mood, the top 8 (from least to most important):
An STG-44 (or MP40), with ammo
A couple more SAR-1s
The Matrix Reloaded cellphone (working version)
A new computer, completely custom built
A Steyr M9, Smartcarry holster for aforementioned Steyr
New car, pref. a new Monte Carlo (Black or white)
A place (other than my parent's house) to live
$25,000,000 in cash (tens and twenties please :what:  :D )

I am getting a Benchmade 42 Balisong (butterfly knife) it has a wehawk(sp) blade, one and a half cutting edges. $115
Firefly DVD set, thanks guys for mentioning someone made into a DVD.

I am getting my brother a Jaguar M4 Balisong $28
Something non tacticle or firearms related for my mom and dad.

Unfortunately, I've pretty much reached the stage of "I know what I want, but it's so esoteric you'd never be able to find one, so just give me the money you were going to spend and I'll see it goes towards something I actually want and will use. Thank you." with most of my relatives.

One of the hazards of being a gun nut. Plus, sending a "Thank You for the $$, I used it to purchase a new pistol/rifle/shotgun/reloading press/box of self defense ammunition. I'm really enjoying my purchase, couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks Again, Love..." is GUARANTEED to cause a coronary when sent to your least favorite gun-hating relative.

I always used to ask Santa for a Ferrari and Peace on Earth, ya know, a little something for me and a little something for the world at large. I never got either, but its a nice dream.

However, in these days of diminishing expectations, I'm wishing for a Ross Carter Commander-sized 1911 in .357 Sig (titanium Caspian frame, & SS slide, appropriate hand-fit premium interanls) for me, and for the rest of the world, I'm hoping we never again have to hear of Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, or Scott Peterson, eh?

I'll take...

a pair of stainless Ed Brown Kobras, one full size and one bobtail
a set of black alumagrips for each
nice leather for both, maybe something by lou alessi
5,000 rounds of .45acp

:neener:

I would like all of our rights recognized by our Gov't! They would also behave like humble servants.

What I want is not for my benefit. Really.
Down at the gunshop there is this Ruger Super Blackhawk .41 mag. that has been hanging on the rack for a long time now.
It seems no one wants to give it a good home.
Every time I go in there it cries out to me "Take me home! Take me home!!" but alas I do not have the funds to pay the adoption fees.
Santa, if you leave the Blackhawk in my stocking I promise to give it a good home. I'll clean it and polish it and make sure it has a steady diet of premium handloads that I will cook up all by myself.

I'm hoping for a Tikka T3 lite in either .270win, .308win, or 30-06 (can't make up my mind).
As for the really ridiculous stuff, a CCW law and an H&K p7 would be nice
