My Favorite Wintertime CC Method

I recently ordered a concealed carry vest with built in holster. I'm anxious to see how it works out.
What kind did you get? Let us know how it works out, okay?
I have a concealed carry vest from Coronado Leather. It works well for concealed carry. The only thing is that it's kind of heavy (the vest itself) for summertime wear. The temperature here this morning was zero though, and my "heavy" leather concealed carry vest felt pretty darned good under the medium-weight fleece jacket I was wearing.

I ordered from legendary whitetails....I will let you know.

I only carry in a coat pocket or outer shirt pocket if I know I'm not going to take the garment off.

If I'm going to have to take it off, I will probably carry in a cargo pants pocket.

Front pocket carry is my least favorite and I really don't do it. Too hard to draw when sitting or whatever.

Due to medical BS I haven't been able to wear a belt for over three years. I've learned to carry just fine without one.

Pocket carry is good if the garment fits you properly, the pocket is the right size and shape, the handgun and holster fit it properly, etc.

My draws are quick and consistent with my favored garments, pockets, and handguns. An unbuttoned breast pocket is very fast, if the coat isn't loose.

I was just at the store. The temps outside are just above freezing, but in the store it was hot. I guess these store managers don’t consider people coming into the store wearing coats or heavy clothing. I started to put my holster on to carry my gun OWB but changed my mind. Glad I did in this instance or I would have been dying wearing a coat to cover my gun as I will not open carry.
I think I am just going to pocket carry or ankle carry. I can’t seem to find a system that works for me since I moved here except for pocket carry.

Same as summer, AIWB (but mine is closer to 1-1:30 not the straight 12) means even with most of my winter coats getting to my CCW isn’t any tougher than in the summer.

Something like a heavy fleece isn’t any different than a sweatshirt to me. I do rarely zip my coats, prefer to use buttons if it’s cold enough to bother closing the coat.

Back when I lived up in AK I did use a small pistol in my heavy parka’s had warmer pocket when it got real cold, but here in the upper Midwest it doesn’t often get that cold.

OWB with a long vest and a just as long light to medium weight jacket over everything works well for me this time of year. I can pull the jacket off while I'm in the stores or whatever if I get too warm, and the vest still covers my CCW. That's the way I did it yesterday morning in church, and during the potluck afterwards. It was 3 above outside, about 70 inside, and yet I was relatively comfortable in both locations.

Our temperature is highs of 70 or more all week. That's not even jacket weather. OP,

Stay warm. We're not even layering up, here. Short sleeves are the uniform of the day, tomorrow.
