I've been working on perfecting a minimal-print shoulder rig for use with a light jacket. I like the Null upside-down rig, but it suffers from two problems. First off, its off-side hooks to the pants and the clasp can snap loose or become visible. Secondly, it's really designed for very small semis and J-Frame revolvers. My SP-101 was too weighty and bulky to work well in that configuration.

I've experimented with different ideas and tried them in the field. This is my third major revision to the design. I've looped the off side of the Null strap back onto itself to wrap around the offside shoulder. This is totally self-adjusting and does not pinch even with the weight of the SP on the other side. It also flexes as you move. The Null holster has been replaced with a Galco vertical rig and hooked into the existing straps. This configuration should work well with even heavier K-Frame and GP-100 size revolvers.

Photos shortly.

Cosmoline:

The rig I ended up with for armed security work was a Ken Null upside down horsehide holster, a Galco SII harness and a Kramer horsehide double mag pouch. This worked very well for my Glock 27 and my Glock 23 (two different rigs) under a properly fit blazer. In these applications concealment was paramount (Boston hotels). The same rig carried fairly well under a Cabelas canvas shirt either tucked or untucked. I found the Kramer "Confidant" to be the best for me for J-frame or small frame Auto carry under a dress shirt.

It can be adusted to any height between right under the arm to a mid-way position. It can also be tilted forward or backward by altering the straps. It conceals the SP better than a Miami rig because the Null straps are much harder to spot and the revolver butt doesn't stick out towards the front.
