This pandemic has been hard on my finances and health, but in a good way. I spend way too much time on the web watching for good gun deals between work meetings. So much so that I’ve added more weapons to my arsenal in the past 16 months than the last 5 years. Good deals are still out there but you need to be patient.

Good for my collection, bad for my finances and marriage as I get the whole “another gun”? I do counter with “another Amazon delivery”......lmao. Honestly, she’s a gun nut too so no new gun has damaged our relationship.

Anyone else’s firearm addiction suffer from the pandemic?

Yes, I have purchased more guns in the last 7 months than I have in the last 7 years. And yes again, all of them have been on sale or used at a great price.

Edit: I don't have time to photograph them right now, but while at work I was able to make a list.
1. Mossberg 500 20ga. Son's first shotgun, Walmart clearance.
2. JTS M12 AK, a toy for me and it was on sale with free shipping.
3. Benelli Nova 20ga pump, because my son has a 20ga. Barely used and on sale.
4. Springfield Armory Defender 1911, on sale.
5. HK P30Sk, needed somthing to shoot 9mm with . On sale and mispriced. I got night sights and 3 mags for the price of no night sights and 2 mags.
6. Glock 30SF, I have ALOT of .45 acp ammo!
7. Ruger Security Nine. My wife's first handgun. On sale and this is one sweet gun we both love it!
8. Taurus TX .22. On sale for half price, I have tons of .22 ammo. This is a full size poly pistol and an excellent trainer for my wife and kids.
9. FN FN15 carbine, why not! This was not on sale and not inflated and I've always wanted a FN!

I was not looking for any of these and I had the extra cash due to canceled vacation plans and plenty of covid related overtime. I'm sure that's all but I could be forgetting something .

I may have bought 6 guns during. I forget the exact amount. I have learned from past to keep stocked up on ammo and reloading components. Still grabbed some Rimfire when walmart has some on the shelf. Always left some for the next customer.

Haven't bought many guns since Covid started, but my bullet mold collection has grown by leaps and bounds.

Conversely, have sold off 3 guns in the last 6 months, took advantage of the favorable prices.

Same for some ammo.

Yea, I seem to have acquired a few ....

1.) Miroku Winchester 1866 rifle in .38SP.
2.) " Browning BL-22
3.) " Winchester 1873 rifle in .45 Colt
4.) Yet another M4orgery: Colt M4 in 5.56.
5.) Pietta Colt 1873 Cavalry style revolver 7.5" bbl. in .45 Colt.
6.) Uberti Remington 1875, 5.5" bbl, .45 Colt
7.) Henry Repeating Arms 1860 Henry repro in .44-40.

And I'm done (Fat chance of that!!!!!!)

Thinking about it nothing and I mean absolutely nothing has changed in my gun buying habits. Over the past year or so I have bought maybe 2 or 3 guns based on my same buying habits. I see a gun I like and if the price is right I buy it. I really haven't bought any factory ammunition and have been reloading more than usual. I did sell off about 35 pounds of powder at $12 a pound so hardly making out. Overall the entire COVID thing has had between very little and no effect on my gun buying habits.

My overpriced Covid buys started with Ruger 22/45 then S&W 586 , Ruger 10/22 and last M&P AR-15 . Sold for small profit Mossberg 12ga , S&W Model 19 and M&P 9

I have sold two bought and bought I think seven.

I used to never sell guns until I realized that was silly, for me at least. I sold a Taurus in .327 Federal and a Kahr K40. Kind of wish I had the 40 back, or at least wish I would have bought the same gun in 9mm.

Bought seven including a Colt Python and a S&W 57. And my first ever AR.

Just like after the Sandy Hook tragedy. If you are into guns with bolts, levers, cylinders, or falling blocks, and real wood, the buying has been pretty good. I fortunately saw the ammo shortage coming last summer and stocked up before it got bad.

Sold the bulk of my guns about three years ago, when prices were crappy low. Bad timing is a plague on my life.
Haven't bought anything so no pictures needed. Wish I could go shooting again. :cuss:

I did sell one, or should I say added one in a trade. Neighbor was selling his Toro zero turn lawnmower and I needed a new one. He moved to SC and didn’t want to take it with. He also needed an upgrade from the .22LR pistol he carried for personal protection. So I gave him a blend of $, a Taurus PT 111 G2, 50 round box of Blazer 9mm for practice and 25 rounds of PP ammo.

That’s the only one I parted with but I did add 7 more handguns/rifles and a bunch of bullets to the reloading stash.

Hospital visit and Covid in 2020 allowed my ccw to expire, couldn't get into a class until November last year, finally got it renewed a month or so ago. Not a big deal since I didn't go much of anywhere, and we can open carry in Reno.

So, in the interim, I focused on getting a few BP guns, picked up a Richland 1858, a couple T/C rifles (hawken in .45 and new englander in .50), I worked on a Philly derringer I had picked up pre covid at a gun show cheap and got it shooting. Wife and Son both got higher capacity carry guns, security 9 and Sig 365, more recently I have picked up a new bullpup stock, trigger springs, etc for the 995, added a couple new .22s since I am pretty deep in .22 ammo, a heritage arms .22/22mag; and a savage 64 FV-SR in .22 which should allow me to go shoot a bit without worrying about reloading.

Loaded up enough ammo to last a while and have, when I could find it at normal prices, restocked some bullets, primers, and BP (still looking for #10 remington or #11 CCI caps but I have several hundred at least).

Biggest change for me is not shooting as much, I have several firearms in my collection right now that have yet to be shot by me which is pretty abnormal. I am pretty much sticking to .22 and .22 mag for the bulk of my shooting when I do get out, other than a little practice with my carry guns and maybe 50 rounds down the tube of my 6.5 Stealth and .223 Howa varmint.

Positive is with working from home I am saving the gas I would have spent go 30 miles each way in my truck, so, that money has made it easier to buy what I want when I find something in stock.

I too have purchased more “COVID” firearms , simply because w/my steady retirement income and w/fewer places to spend it...No not because of a Zombie or any other kind of potential uprising....All my purchases have been of the Historic, non “black gun” variety, except for possibly a Kel-Tec-33 22lr....simply because I was a “Buck Rogers” fan as a kid....and in case any Zombies show up. image.jpg

My collection has grown as well. May have something to do with buying a few evil rifles that may soon be banned. But I will deny that if you ask.

I have brought home one gun a month, every month, since Dec. 2019.

Three rifles, a shotgun and a batch of handguns.

All of my vacation plans were cancelled, including a trip to Europe, so I had extra $ to spend on firearms.

If things lighten up and travel is permitted again, the good times will probably end.

Stay safe

Seems to be a common thread in the gun community. I decided to go buck wild and buy all the AR parts I'll need for the rest of the builds I want to complete. I've definitely spent more than I planned to, but I should never have to build another one, for me or my boys, ever again.
