Submitted for your approval... The Black Beauty!

I cannot be happier than I am right now with the latest addition to my collection. This fine specimen was purchased LNIB and it was all the seller advertised and more. The only change so far was to replace the SA logo'd rosewood grips with finger grooved Hogue grips.

I never buy used firearms. But, with only 32 rounds down the pipe at the time of purchase, this SA 1911 Loaded was about as close to NIB as you you could ask... Not a mark, scratch or blemish anywhere on the gun.

The specs for my new Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 are as follows:

Caliber: .45ACP
Barrel: 5” Stainless Steel
Sights: Low Profile Combat Rear, Dovetail Front, Tritium Trijicon Night Sights
Trigger: Aluminum Match Grade
Frame: Forged Steel, Parkerized
Slide:Forged Steel, Parkerized
Safety: Ambidextrous Thumb
Other: Lowered and Flared Ejection Port, Delta Lightweight Hammer, Adjustable Speed Trigger, Loaded Chamber Indicator, Titanium Firing Pin

Good looking gun, definitely a workhorse, the Hogues accentuate that for sure.

So is that pistol...

This one? I didn't think it would be so dark.

That looks to be the one.

The image is dark because I took the picture with only the poor camera's flash and an energy saver bulb overhead. I'll get a better pic outside this weekend.

My Loaded is one of the sweetest handling guns I've had the privilege of firing. It doesn't get much range time. Seeing that pic, I might have to make sure it's in the kit next time I go.

FYI, mine's stainless. Mind me asking what you gave for yours? I was around the $800 mark for a similar condition, like-new gun. Still trying to figure out if I got hosed or not. Got it right before Obama mania hit.

IMHO, don't jack with the "adjustable" trigger. I thought it shortened the trigger pull so I started playing with it. Took me a long time to get it back where it was comfortable. It was my fault for not understanding what it did.

Very nice indeed. I'm partial to rosewood though and would have left them on. But it's not my gun. Enjoy it. :)

UPDATE - RANGE REPORT

Thanks for all the good words guys. I got out to the range this morning, and if was happy before, I'm ecstatic now! This shooter is absolutely amazing!

I own more firearms than I probably should... At least my wife says so. Until now, my most accurate handgun was one of my M&P9 Pro's, but today that changed. The pic below is shows the results of the new 1911 Loaded shot off-hand at 15 yards. All 14 shots (2 Magazines) in two of my tightest groupings ever at that distance.

Thanks for indulging me.
