my mac 11 problem

This is my first time posting, if this isn’t appropriate for this board please let me know. SO About a year and a half ago I picked up a cobray m-11 it looked like it would be a blast to shoot. It was made during the ban so it came with only a 10 round clip. I put it in my safe thinking the next time I order online I would get a 30 rounder for it. Well I put it off until finally a few months ago when I was at a gun show and I saw a m-11 clip with the cobray stamp. It was one of the zytel clips. I paid $30 for it and it went into my safe with the mac 11 . So then finally yesterday I was going to the range for the first time in along time and I got out my mac, I loaded the 10 round clip with 115 gr Winchesters and was pleased with the results (crappy grouping but FUN) then using the same ammo I loaded the 30 round clip It chambered the first round but then immediately jammed. So I jacked that round out and the bolt closed, I fired it again and it jammed. That’s when I realized that there was some give with the clip, so I tried holding the clip and pushing it into the receiver with one hand and shooting with my other. the reaming 26 rounds fired fine, as long as I pushed the clip into the receiver. I also tried setting it on a table and firing this worked fine as well. My question is, do you think it’s the clip or is it the gun?

I think that this may be a problem with the mag. I have seen it before. Just stick with the metal mags...

It's the magazine.

The notch in the magazine that the inside of the gun engages is cut incorrectly. Get rid of that magazine and order a new one.

Is it possible to personally perform a modification to the magazine so it works and loads properly?

Well the notch is plastic.Add some epoxy and recut the notch.

Trade that clip in for a magazine made of steel.
