Lots of folks used to carry something similar we used to describe as a "satchel" for books and such to school, the office, etc. You just need a tweed sportscoat with patch elbows, a pipe, and you're set.

you sure your not carrying a MOLLE pack that your also living out of?

I used to carry a $400 kit full of first-aid supplies including CPR mask, roll up splint, Leatherman tool, ceramic scissors, and all kinds of stuff. Then someone broke into my car and stole it so I decided I can't afford to have anything expensive in there. I still have a basic first aid kit though.
